Dont get me wrong; i think she would be an awful POTUS. I am merely saying that in a campaign, she could be well managed and controlled with access limited to favorable interviewers, "town halls", and a few debates.

I am not a NOW supporter, nor am I a feminist. I am all about equality. Do you realize we are in the 21st Century? No one needs to be well-managed OR controlled!

UGH - we can't build the Libertarian Party fast enough!

No one's children should be subjected to the kind of nasty, viscious things that have been said about the Palin children. As demonized as Rush/Hannity etc are, if they said anything remotely simular about the Obama children, the lynch mob would be out in force.

Give them time and they will, just like Rush Limbaugh and John McCain went after teenage Chelsea Clinton.

In the interests of full disclosure, I like Palin and support her. I wanted her to run for POTUS and am truly disappointed that she quit office in midstream. I would have some difficulty now supporting her in 2012.

That said, I do not think she pulled out for political reasons. I saw that a family vote was taken with 4 "yes" votes and one "hell yes" vote: her husband. So I think she exited for her family's sake. I have read that she did not run for office once before due to her son's objections.

As demonized as Rush/Hannity etc are, if they said anything remotely simular about the Obama children, the lynch mob would be out in force. In fact, Hannity joke the othe rnight that he would name the Democrat politician that he though "looked like a slutty flight attendant" and the Democrat lady he was interviewing about died. The double standard is amazing.

So they voted to have her quit mid-term "for family reasons?" What, pray tell, would the vote have been had she (GOD FORBID) been elected vice president?? Lots less stress there, I'm sure. Let's see. . . . Wasilla or Washington. Hmmmm.

And perhaps you don't remember this, but I and many others do:

?Everyone knows the Clintons have a cat. Socks is the White House cat. But did you know there is a White House dog?? Limbaugh said on TV, before holding up a picture of Chelsea."

That Limbaugh guy's a real class act. ;-)

It only appears that most of the disagreements are with firey darts attached. Why are you so defensive when I toss a firey dart?

Well I wouldn't call my comment defensive, but if you want to, then I am defending the other posters' right to voice an opinion...most of the "fiery darts" as you call them are directed toward the political figures--not fellow posters.

Hate is a pretty strong word in my experience--I just felt it was an inappropriate label for the situation.

That statement is just as bad. Limbaugh shares a large part of the blame for the political climate in this country. I agree with many of his positions but abhorr his tactics.

palin resigns for her reasons......it's all about her....book deal, speaking engagements, job opportunities, or presidential campaign. there's only one minor problem. she quit and shirked her responsibility to serve her term. she's all show and no go.

She just needs someone to 'manage and control her' - GEEZ!

To be a national candidate, Palin DOES need someone to manage and control her, otherwise she starts spiraling around and eventually stops making sense. This is not a "female" thing. It's a Palin thing. I am quite sure that's what rancid meant. There is no question that she takes way too much way personally and engages in small battles when she would be better off looking at the big picture.

Rancid might have meant what you said, TFT.

For any Presidential Candidate: Coaching? Yes. Being 'controlled and managed?' Those words send a much different message. Maybe it's just a poor choice of words, however.

The double standard is, are you a comedian, or are you supposed to be a serious news commentator/journalist?

I thank Hannity for admitting he wants to be judged as a comedian.
