I believe he's specifically mocking Andy's cavalier attitude about providing supporting information and sources.

Might I suggest you "Goggle" Dave Janda. You will find the speech displayed there. I did not compare it line for line but it appeared to be the same as posted. At any rate, I took it in good faith. My problem is I am prone to do that until something or someone is proven otherwise.

Well, I did look into David Janda, which is what led me to believe the email letter had been distorted, because it contains inflammatory statements that are just inaccurate. People who write such things and start emailing them around just aren't the type of people who are honored worldwide for their orthopedic expertise.

And Dr. Janda's views on health care reform have been published in the Detroit News, among other places, apparently as recently at March (but I could not locate the article). So if he had something substantive to say, certainly his local paper -- he is highly regarded in Michigan -- would have printed his viewpoint.

Since your typical run-of-the-mill swastika-sign-at-town-hall-meeting is getting photographed and published all over the place right now, if Dr. Janda actually called the bill "fascist" during a speech in front of members of Congress, someone would have reported it by now.

This section of the letter also raises some eyebrows:

Section 102 has the Orwellian title, "Protecting the Choice to Keep Current Coverage." What this section really mandates is that it is illegal to keep your private insurance if your status changes - e.g., if you lose or change your job, retire from your job and become a senior, graduate from college and get your first job. Yes, illegal.

When Mr. Obama hosted a conference call with bloggers <http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/07/20/obama-calls-on-bloggers-t_n_241570.html> urging them to pressure Congress to pass his health plan as soon as possible, a blogger from Maine referenced an Investors Business Daily article <http://www.ibdeditorials.com/IBDArticles.aspx?id=332548165656854> that claimed Section 102 of the House health legislation would outlaw private insurance.

He asked: "Is this true? Will people be able to keep their insurance and will insurers be able to write new policies even though H.R. 3200 is passed?" Mr. Obama replied: "You know, I have to say that I am not familiar with the provision you are talking about."

The "making private insurance illegal" allegation by Investors Business Daily, and repeated here, has been fact-checked and labeled Pants On Fire by Politifact. That means, it is not even close to the truth.

It wouldn't be the first time I, or others, have been "duped" in regard to posts on the board. If I was wrong, I apologize, but I "googled" David Janda and found a copy of his speech as I said earlier. When I went back to confirm it I couldn't find it.
Regardless, in my view, many of the points made in the presentation are valid. That is my right as an American citizen...to evaluate and accept that which I believe.

For what it is worth- it is difficult sometimes to know what is real and what isn't these days. Am I the only one who remembers that time a couple of years back when Andy (iirc) tried to convince us that the Sun orbits the Earth? Brazen in his eccentricity, exclaiming his right to believe and propagate geocentricity, all the while quoting Ptolemy and Confucius with his bare face hanging out for all to witness.
