following the play book....
In my opinion, there is no "play book". The problem with you and others is that you can't accept a compromise or agreement when it is offered to you. You are very subtle in the way you present, what I consider in many cases, a far left agenda. This nation has no place for that thought or rhetoric in our class rooms. Unfortunately, it is more than there.
I fully understand that you are very intelligent, educated and articulate. That doesn't necessarily always make you right anymore than the rest of us. IMO, many of your thoughts and attitudes are part of the problem in today's schools, not part of the solution. I know how many classes in higher education are taught. I've been there and I was not pleased and it still probably hasn't changed.
Good civil discourse, debate and differing of opinions is fine and fruitful. To me, it seems, the extreme left, and yes, in many cases regarding higher learning, the professors have lost the art of civil conversation and debate and now resort to I'll sell MY point of view at any cost. Too bad because to me that is not what education is all about.
I didn't listen to the speech today as I was otherwise occupied with personal matters. I am sure that if it was given as the text was published, it was great. It is time for some in this nation to understand the fiscal necessities facing us and concentrate on solving our myriad of problems instead of continually playing the "left", "right" game. My intent here is not to deride but rather to try and bring some sense of civillty back to this site. I know I said some harsh things but I am tired of the bickering, snide remarks and downright nastiness I have seen lately. We should all get over it.
