Yours is faciitis, BR. I have a rupture. My PF was never really that bad. Until the day it ruptured, I could do just about anything I wanted (I didn't try running) as long as I had a supportive shoe.
I love the doctors in my town, but they can be very difficult to see. We have a huge regional hospital here, ad people come from all over. There are never enough doctors. If you can get in to see them, they're wonderful--I have more good stories than bad. He can't see me until Wednesday because he's in surgery Monday and booked solid on Tuesday. They told me I could come in on Tuesday, but I would have to wait and wait and possibly not get to see him. I already had an appointment for Wedensday.
...is the doctor you are attempting to see the same one that congratulated you on doing your "self surgery?" If so, I can recommend another place you can put Das Boot.
That was a physician's assistant.
I'd be looking for a podiatrist too. No matter how far I had to drive.
I trust this guy more than I trust some of the podiatrists. He's an orthopedic surgeon who has a lot of experience in foot & ankle. His father-in-law (also orthopedic in the same practice) is something of a hero to us--Mom's cousin was in a bush hog accident and the podiatrist on call wanted to amputate his feet. This doctor happened to be there, too and intervened. He was not supposed to be able to walk for more than a year, but he was walking in 6 months.
Nevertheless, if there is no action taken on Wednesday, I'll have to consider other options.
