I am so sorry that you and Miss K are going through this. :sosad: I am just in some pain, but nothing like you two.

Not so bad...I've found that my boys are so much sweeter when I'm sick or injured! (I think I heard someone whisper something like "She'll whack you with that crutch," today.)

I went to a private school. Mrs. Benning, our French teacher, would whack students on the nose with a stick if a question was answered incorrectly. I remember several occasions when she whacked someone on the nose, missed, the stick went up a nostril, and there was a nose bleed. Never happened to me. I still have the French textbook that she used in class. I loved her classes.

Sorry about the tangent.

It sounds like a better teacher's aide than laryngitis! A friend suggested I keep das boot and whip it out during the Christmas season to see if I get better service. :D

I do see many more people holding the door open for me, looks of pity and lots of questions about what happened. My story always terrorizes them. I am still terrorized when I walk by wooden benches. I had a little episode at the Smith and Hawken store a few weeks back. ;-)

I had this in both feet. Could hardly get out of bed in the mornings. The pain from stepping down on my feet hurt so bad, I bought Dr. Schools gel heel inserts, those did not help. Finally went to the Good Feet store and paid $300 plus for a pair of their inserts and saw a big difference within a week. I continued to wear them for probably 3 to 4 weeks and have gone without them since. I have had no more problem. It has been probably close to a year, maybe a little longer.

This is RIDICULOUS. It's supposed to be healed by now. Instead, it's waking me up in the middle of the night. There is a ridge (the edge of the still-attached section of fascia?) through the middle of my foot and it's turning blue and green. My doctor is in surgery and can't see me until Wednesday, so I'm back on crutches (and Darvocet and anti-inflammatory meds) until he can see me. I was told to sleep in the boot last night, but when I got up this morning it actually felt worse.

Can I get a new foot somewhere?

Blue and green? I am so sorry, NoHall. :sosad:

I thought mine was bad. I started doing the Power90 exercises, but had to stop because it just killed my knees and made my plantar fasciitis flare up. I started back on physical therapy yesterday. The therapist told me to stop the Power90 until we resolve the knee and foot issues. I am limping some, but not on crutches like you are.

Can't believe the doc can't see you until Wednesday.:dunno:

...is the doctor you are attempting to see the same one that congratulated you on doing your "self surgery?" If so, I can recommend another place you can put Das Boot.

Yours is faciitis, BR. I have a rupture. My PF was never really that bad. Until the day it ruptured, I could do just about anything I wanted (I didn't try running) as long as I had a supportive shoe.

I love the doctors in my town, but they can be very difficult to see. We have a huge regional hospital here, ad people come from all over. There are never enough doctors. If you can get in to see them, they're wonderful--I have more good stories than bad. He can't see me until Wednesday because he's in surgery Monday and booked solid on Tuesday. They told me I could come in on Tuesday, but I would have to wait and wait and possibly not get to see him. I already had an appointment for Wedensday.

That was a physician's assistant. :dunno:

I'd be looking for a podiatrist too. No matter how far I had to drive.

I trust this guy more than I trust some of the podiatrists. He's an orthopedic surgeon who has a lot of experience in foot & ankle. His father-in-law (also orthopedic in the same practice) is something of a hero to us--Mom's cousin was in a bush hog accident and the podiatrist on call wanted to amputate his feet. This doctor happened to be there, too and intervened. He was not supposed to be able to walk for more than a year, but he was walking in 6 months.

Nevertheless, if there is no action taken on Wednesday, I'll have to consider other options.
