My most comfortable shoes are the Puma Mostro Perf EXT at PUMA Online Store. They have a really high arch (as do I) and work great with my custom orthotics. Pretty unsexy though.

The only fashionable low-heeled shoes I found that I absolutely adore are these Lace & Pony Pump*-* Neiman Marcus. They are in the fall collection but sold out already in anything over an 8. They have a kitten heel, unlike all the other shoes that have 4-inch heels.:bang: Leopard and red are so big this season.

Brace yourself--I'm about to start whining: :violin:

My foot had improved over time. I still had one little sore spot on the point of my heel in the back, not the bottom, that only hurts first thing in the morning. Feeling much better.

Today I went to fitness class, did 1 minute of jumping jacks and some other footwork--not terribly high impact, but some impact. Within ten minutes the PF hurt like it has never hurt before, and it usually doesn't hurt at all in athletic shoes. After 30 minutes, I couldn't use it normally without pain. By the end of the hour, I couldn't touch it to the ground without serious pain.

When I got home, I took the shoe off and it was visibly swollen between the arch and heel. Do any of you sufferers know if this is a PF symptom? It has never swollen before! (And I still can't puckin' walk. Tomorrow is going to be a picnic!)

Ouch! Sounds like you tore it good. When my PF flared up I got my exercising by biking and swimming, continued this until it was ABSOLUTELY pain-free--now I'm walking on my treadmill -- never will go back to jogging, don't want to chance it AT ALL ever again.

New question, now that I've googled it and have confirmed that my symptoms are consistent with a plantar fascial RUPTURE...

Try to sleep with the pain and fight to see a doctor in the morning, or go to the ER tonight?

:sosad:...this sound so painful. Do you have a doctor you see for this? If so, I'd try and wait until tomorrow. What does the google say to do? Bless your heart.

The top 10 links don't say anything except to see your doctor ASAP. But it's after hours, and you are in pain. Personally, I am a wuss, and if I had swelling which is indicative of a rupture, I'd go to the ER. Of course, in our town that'd mean that you'd be out of there at about 5 AM.

Sorry.:sosad:

I'd bet if you visited the ER they'd have you sitting around for hours and hours and sometime around 4:30am, you'd end up with a couple happy pills (if you're lucky), a taped foot, a recommendation to see your doctor in the morning (which by this time would be about 3 hours hence) and a honking medical bill.

If it happened to me, I'd take some aspirin, stick some ice on my foot and down a half-pint of Jack. When I came too the next day, I'd attempt to get a doctor's appointment.

Holy cow. Were you following me or something?

I called the Blue Cross nurse line, and she told me to get myself to the ER. The pain and swelling keeps getting worse. I have this big ol' goose egg on the bottom of my foot.

They gave me a percocet, which took care of my headache, x-rayed my foot (a painful exercise in futility; my bones are slightly stronger than Wolverine's,) offered to tape my foot (I declined--I tried that at home and found that any pressure made it hurt worse,)wrote a prescription for Vicodin (which, based on the effectiveness of the percocet, I may not even have filled,) and told me to see a doctor.

I love that. I go to a hospital, and they tell me to see a doctor.

I'm going to get up and go to work in 3 hours, get my laptop, go to the infirmary at school and beg for some crutches, and then go sit on the podiatrist's doorstep and cry until they either see me or call the police. :bang:

But since I've bored you with my whining, I'll give you the fun part of the story, too: I was sitting there on the bed, feeling guilty for dragging my poor mother out of bed, when I heard a familiar voice. One of my former students is an ER nurse, and she was there. She is hilarious--she has NO inside voice. I'm surprised I didn't hear her in the parking lot. I called her name twice, but she couldn't hear me over her own voice. I sent her a text message and told her to get me a doctor, and she was at my bedside in about 30 seconds. (Turns out she didn't get the text--another nurse heard me calling her.) She went spoke to a doctor, and chatted with me and mom until he came over.

There are benefits to living in a tight-knit community!

Love you all--I'm going to ride my desk chair back to my bed and try to sleep for 2 hours.

So glad you didn't listen to me ...at least you got drugs and a visit from along lost pal. How funny about riding your desk chair! I have been looking for a new desk chair and had decided ti must be on wheels, swivel and be old. Now that I mention it...that chair sounds like me on roller skates.

Keep us posted... get there early and moan loudly.
