90% of all statistics are wrong.
And the 10% that are correct will have missing variables!
90% of all statistics are wrong.
You've got the numbers, you can do all the calculations yourself.
I will admit this is way beyond my area of expertise so I could use the education. Could you show me an example of calculations made related to correlation and significance accounting for every conceivable variation.
I may be mistaken but this appears to be what you are requesting. This could be never ending if everytime someone were to provide a calculation or even an opinion another points to a missing variable. Is it possible to include every variable?
Puhleeze--
I am asking Lucifer to back up his data and assertions which are not statistially relevant. He used irrelevant data comparisons in an attempt to put down religious folks. It was an ill conceived attempt to disguise garbage in and garbage out of an excel spreadsheet as statistics.
It's not my data and I've not made a single assertion.
Really,
What were these then--
"Maybe poverty is a driving force behind religiousness."
"There appears to be an inverse correlation between religiousness and personal income. "
"There appears to be a correlation between religion and teen pregnacy"
"I speculate that poor people might tend to be more religious."
"My guess is that religion might be a consequence of poverty, and that teen pregnacy might also be the result of poverty."
"I notice at the end you came to basically the same CONCLUSION that I did. "
Already forgot everything you wrote on this thread have you. Again, you put garbage in, got garbage out and then drew conclusions (your word).
You lied (and, that is not a racist remark;-) ) in your most recent post even though your previous posts were there for all to see.![]()
Where is the intellectual honesty?Where has Bob been--no way he can defend the numbers either?
Garbage, spin, duck, cover, spin, garbage, duck, cover, spin,... The liberal way.
None of those are assertions. Assertions are affirmations. Assertions are definitive positive statements. Those were all obviously speculative and showed an interest in obtaining more knowledge. Obviously you are not analytical or scientific by any stretch. That's OK. As far as numbers and correlations, those are just mathematical facts. I have no control over them. I drew no profound conclusions from them. The only assertion I've made is that I haven't made any, fool.![]()
A defintion of assertion is "a positive statement, often without support or reason". The definition says nothing about being a definitive positive statement.
Your words were positive statements that definitely had no logical support. You even used the term conclusion in one of your posts.
Again, spin all you like. You still haven't backed up any of your "mathematical facts" because you can't. You were comparing apples and oranges and making positive statements or assertions based on this bad data.
By the way, you did no math. You plugged some numbers into an excel spreadsheet. Any 10 year old could do the same thing to make a pretty looking graph.
Spin, spin, spin.
Dude, it was a conclusion about something speculative. It's still speculative. I said "My guess is that religion might be a consequence of poverty, and that teen pregnacy might also be the result of poverty. Now, I do happen to think some of this feeds on itself. Don't you think it's possible that unwanted pregnancy could be a partial cause of poverty? [Edit] I notice at the end you came to basically the same conclusion that I did. " Note the words denoting speculation, uncertainty, partial agreement are in bold.
Might I also add Are you for real??I honestly don't see how you could even drive yourself to the store.
It is sad that I have to break down a paragraph like this just for the sake of your comprehension. I'm not getting paid for this. Perhaps you should have attended school the other day when Obama made his speech. Quit while you're not too far behind so you don't embarrass yourself any more. It's no wonder Republicans have such strange interpretations of our current administration's proposals and policies.
