sometimes we need to remind ourselves of the importance of this rule: to live and let live!
and do not allow anyone (on a message board or in real life) rain down their anger or unhappiness on you.

And kkddbb, "people like you" is a simple observation and not angry whatsoever. Im glad that you were able to grow and change. However, my point was that no one in some "liberal" v. "conservative" debate is going to change anyone's mind. Your post would seem to attest to that. I myself am in my mid 30s, and a business owner with young children. While some of my beliefs have changed, many have not. I've got to tell you, though...from your posts on here, you seem bitter about something. I hope that's not true, but that's how it comes across.......

I agree - best to try and keep it from getting ugly. I think I will start a thread to see what we have in common. I sort of did that with my "what do you love about SoWal and it was cool as heck to have republicans and dems all sharing and lovin' it! I encourage you to come over to that thread and share and we can all consider it a ((GROUP HUG)).
Now back to the topic at hand whatever that was.... oh yeah, now I remember.

CSully...are you new to the political forums? If so, let me tell you a secret. There are posters from both sides of the debate that get a little over the top now and again. I agree with you, that no one's mind will be changed by the ongoing debate here, but "people like me"
can learn something about issues of the day, sometimes. Also, about the bitter part....keep in mind that the majority of these posters are real people with real lives and struggles that we know nothing about. Everyone has a story.
