I don't think there is a bigger gap. I think there is a HUGE difference in the level of civility ................... much of it driven by the anonymity of the internet/email forwards and the need for ratings/booksales.

People used to fight duels and have decade long bitter feuds w/ better manners than many modern folks use to converse about minor political topics.

your right. go look at say think progress and media matters compared to say newsmax and redstate. huge huge huge difference. oneside is hellbent on smearing those with whom they disagree while accusing others of doing the smearing.

Actually, I did learn a lot today;-). I tried to give him a fair chance, tried to be open minded and listen to what he has to say. But after 12 minutes (yes, I looked at my clock - I was shocked that I'd listened so long) I couldn't take any more of his vile personality.

So yes, I learned never to take Limbaugh serious.

vile personality? you have to listen daily to get the man himself. but, you cant disagree with him.

i watch and listen to liberal programs so i dont talk out my butt and i do it to get another side. problem is, air america for example is loaded with hatred and zero educational value. you have to put the hatred aside and open your mind. look, up until 911 i was a flaming liberal and all my friends and family can vouge for that. (did i spell that right). i didnt want to listen to anyone that didnt agree with me and it literally made me angry to do it. things change when your able to open your mind to other things different. i may live somewhat of a liberal lifestyle still, my political views are much more clear these days.

Amen to that...couldn't agree more. Those two nutjob pastors were completely over the line and off their rocker for praying for Obama's death, and encouraging an uprising isn't healthy either. Don't forget the hate of Obama's 20 year church - I need not quote Rev Wright's greatest hits. I might be slow on this one but are you referencing Bill Clinton and John Edwards in your last sentence?
