This Is What Makes SGG Happy....:)

New posts
Sounds to me like he has a fiance or wife somewhere since his time is so limited. He is boxed in by more important obligations and probably not because he is obsessively organized. RUN!!!!!!!!!

Train already left the station~~~~~~~~~

Sorry, gonna pass on the judgmental recovering alcoholic who has a house full of bird crap and doesn't want or have time for a relationship...............except when he doesn't want to eat alone.

:floor:Can you imagine all those birds? Squawking? Pooping and spitting seeds? :yikes:

The changing of the name seems odd to me. There is a girl here who changed her name from something like Stacey Weinberger to.................

a very aristocratic first name and surname......she legally changed her name in a court. Last name: one of our presidents.

She is a bonafide whackjob.

And, SGG, you're right, he might not want to get married because he already is......although he claims to have no baggage.

Lynnie, i used to clean a house every two weeks that had two birds. (they didn't do any cleaning in between my visits) Let me tell ya, it was pandemonium in that house. They also had cats, dogs, fish, you name it, they had it as a pet. TWENTY THREE birds is just plain weird and i can tell you to multiply the mess of two birds times 11.5 is just downright gross. I'm glad you've moved on...hopefully....for your sake. Love ya!

Lynnie,

Run, don't walk, away from the "Birdman of Alcatraz." I think having 23 birds in a house pretty much makes him certifiable in the majority of states in the union.

My threshold for "bird people" was lowered considerably several years ago after finding out that a rental tenant skipped town leaving my property an absolute sh*thouse of feathers, seeds hulls and droppings.

The guy is a freak...don't waste your time, move on to the next!

But, sometimes, aren't there nice guys who've hit a few bumps, or are a little (or a lot) insecure, or who don't know how to express themselves well? If enough time is taken to determine if the erratic behavior and responses are neither manipulative nor malicious in nature, then maybe you have an insecure guy who will settle in once he feels safer.

Rule #1 of relationships....

Don't enter into a relationship thinking you can change someone.

It's like teaching a pig to sing...it's a waste of your time and it annoys the pig.

Oh, I never even stopped at the red light.
 Thank you!

Alcatraz - yes, it's a twisted something.

I have now deemed this one "Hitchcock"

Oh dear Heavens that we even have to verbalize this. In taking this down to the abusrb: If you don't want to be changed why would you want to change someone? :idontno:

This guy has 23 birds and 22 are never let out of a cage. Is that ok in bird world? Because in Lynnie World, that isn't ok. I'm not changin on this.................

What kinds of birds does this guy have? Are they those big, honking things that Baretta used to have?

And no, it's is not OK in the bird world to keep them in cages in a house--and it's not OK in the landlord world either.

this thread makes me 100% happy to be blissfully single after 20 some years of marrige. The "you complete me" line is crap....I have discovered that I complete myself! AND.....I have NO desire to complete anyone else, only compliment them.

So well said!!!! A beautiful quote from a beautiful gull!:D

The one that gets to fly around, pooping all over the house is one that can talk. Quaker Parrot, maybe? The others are the big ones that don't talk and he said he likes them because they are beautiful.

I don't think he has a landlord and could look that up, but don't want to waste my time on him.

Very succinctly stated, Allifunn! Seems to be a lot of happy marriages around, but the ones that aren't seem to have a lot of issues, which escalate into horrible issues.

We've gotten a lot of mileage out of this one, though~~~~~~

Okay...so I work at a an all-boy school, and one of my little men commented on Oprah Winfrey's position as a man-hater a few days ago. We also talked a bit about the book that recently came out (I can't remember the title and I'm too lazy to look it up) that says 72% of women think their husbands are incompetent.

MEANWHILE, I'm also caring for a friend who recently left her husband. (She should have done it a long time ago--he's borderline abusive. Even so, this is a marriage that can be rehabilitated.) Suddenly, she's even more attentive to my long-suffering status as chronically single. Lots of calls and messages about, "Oh my gosh! How can you stand this? Men are so crazy! Why do we like them?!"

But we're not going to change this mess, right?

I propose that we return to the original spirit of this thread rather than continue with the man bashing. Granted, the original subject turned out to be a complete turd. As for the fella in my life, I'm not going to 1) figure him out or 2) fix him. (Time and patience will sort it out one way or another. Those of you who know me have probably figured out that I'm not exactly patient, but I'm determined to learn a new trick.)

Even so, there are some wonderful men out there. Last night I went to a dance with my little men and spent 2 1/2 hours breaking up all the little clusters of boys, pushing them to go talk to the people in skirts. I was impressed with some of the results. Of course, they had some wonderful role models--our Commandant of cadets who is a stereotypical Marine in many ways, adores his wife in a way that belongs in a Jane Austen novel. The President and his Executive Assistant, also Marines, are almost as gooey. I only mention that because it makes me realize that romance is still alive, and that it isn't at all unmasculine.

So--what in the world are we looking for? Is it realistic? Like Allifunn so CORRECTLY stated, the "you complete me" mess is just stupid. An incomplete single person will make an incomplete married person. As Lynnie said, there are some great married couples out there. The most extreme example I know is my own parents, but as I get older I see more and more that it wasn't easy even for them. They had some hard-and-fast principles that they set when they were young and in love that got them through the times when they were worn out, stressed out, and not in the mood for love. (One was that they NEVER mention the "d" word, even as a joke. Never. Another is that my family NEVER talks about another member of the family behind his/her back, and my parents were particularly united in this--as a kid it never worked for me to go to Mom and say, "You know what Dad did/said?" and vice-versa. They always backed each other up.)

Married people (whether it is recognized by the government or not)--do you have some of these principles? Were they part of the hunt for your other, or did it just work out? Single people--are you as lost as me on this?

(Allifunn, some days I'm as content as you are. A lot of days, in fact...the thing that squashes it is the dread of being alone once my folks are gone. I like families.)

Discuss. I need a nap.
