[ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HootenannyOrigin[/ame]

Hootenanny is an Appalachian colloquialism that was used in early twentieth century America to refer to things whose names were forgotten or unknown. In this usage it was synonymous with thingamajig or whatchamacallit, as in "hand me that hootenanny." Hootenanny was also an old country word for "party". Now, most commonly, it refers to a folk-music party.....what a great word!

I had cats named Hoot & Anny. I decided it was too difficult to spell Ev & Stabetsy.

Classic! :rotfl:

Isn't it weird when people name their animals something like Steve? No lie, there is a bloodhound in my hood (which is strange enough) that looks just like Sweet Pea. His name is Steve. WTH~~~~~~~

That's really funny to me--I always say the same thing because I've NEVER met a dog named Steve. (I think that Dave Barry mentioned that once, too.)
