That's what Oprah said about James Frey when his book "Million Little Pieces" was initially exposed as a fraud. She defended him to the last because she wanted to believe that he was what he said he was.
Can you share? If this is merely an idle rumor floating around, everyone would be happy to see it put to rest. You know how stories get blown way out of proportion when they are not addressed.
Such a coincidence too, that they both live at the same end of the beach, own the same kind of dog, espouse the same politics...really, you can see why so many people feel like they "know" Alpha Crab from another place. ;-)
Why am I bringing this up? Because, as I said to Jenny, it smacks of a James Frey scenario. I find it strange that people--in and out of my immediate circle of friends--are wondering if hnooe is pulling a fast one and deceiving everyone by posing as a newcomer named Alpha Crab.
It's one thing if a poster gets off on a wrong foot and wants to make a fresh start with a new name and it's all out in the open. It's an entirely different matter when someone leaves with a splash and then skulks back and pretends to be someone else. There's a dishonesty to it that compromises the integrity of the entire board. How can you trust anything that comes out of this person's mouth when the essence of who this person is, is based on a falsehood?
Rumors should be squashed if that's what they are....rumors. We're all waiting for hnoee and his supposed alter ego to refute them. Personally, I hope this just a pile of silly suppositions because I wouldn't like to think that SoWal has been duped.
Actually, anonymity is a funny thing. Some like it and some don't. Some are known and some are not, and some are both with different screen names. If someone using their real name wants to drop it and start with an alias that is OK. Trying to out them is the same as trying to out someone who wants to be anonymous in the first place.
I'm not saying who is who, but I am saying there is no reason to push it.

I see know problem with any of this. It's all just a game anyway. There's an old saying "It's all fun and games until somebody loses an eye".

I would be extremely pleased to see hnooe back under any name. A name is only a name. If alpha C happens to be he then wonderful. If alpha is not he then all the better - we all will have known 2 great human beans.

I miss hnooe too here on sowal. But at least he is alive and well on fb and just as genuine as they come.
Yea JR. Hnooe is alive and also a great dancer. Not to mention very very huggable. He had this blonde shaggy wig on at the alys Halloween party. He is pretty cute as a blonde!
