Hello to all:

I have a friend who lives in the Panhandle who is in need of the services of an employment attorney who specializes in wrongful terminations.

Does anyone have a recommendation? Please feel free to PM me with details.

Thanks to all.

Arkie...

Did your friend have a signed contract with the employer--and was your friend terminated before the contract-end date? If not, Florida's "employment at will" doctrine is a real tough nut to crack.

Paul Donnely out of Gainesville is good. Also Shelly is correct, unless it relates to whistleblowers, sexual discrimination or some other some such.
I know some folks because of race or gender issues have used a couple of lawyers out of Tallahassee but I do not know their names.

Forgot, Rod Smith, also out of Gainesville. Used to be one of the few labor lawyers in the state back in the day.

Is there an actual labor attorney?!! What labor laws?!!! :bang:

In Florida, the only labor litigations worth pursuing are those where an employee has a contract and was terminated outside the agreements spelled out in the contract--think high-level, high-pay corporate jobs.

If you're a $9.50 per hour clerk at the candle shop--forgetaboutit.
