Uncalled for Bob. Age bias is ugly.

Andy, I have scanned this thread and way back you said something to the effect that Palin connects with 'the hard working people of this country'. Listen, I work hard and assure you, she does not connect with me. You are right in saying she is viciously attacked by the libnut left but in my opinion she just doesn't seem like she has the 'right stuff' to be our President. I am sure she is personable, accomplished in her own way and not stupid, but her pandering to the gun and knife show crowd just doesn't impress me.

Think of it like this-does Sarah Palin have the potential to achieve greatness that would warrant her image being carved on Mount Rushmore? It might seem silly, but really, that is what we should be looking for in a potential President...greatness. I don't see it in her. Surely the GOP has better, potentially great Presidents among the ranks who warrant much closer attention than Palin.
30A Skunkape, your points are well taken but if you will return to post #64 and read the first sentence it would be appreciated. That does not mean that at some point in the future I would not consider Palin as a viable candidate for POTUS. She was the governor of the one of our fifty states and from all indications did a creditable job. As to why she resigned, she explained that quite nicely on Fox News Sunday. Furthermore, I consider anyone who is governor of one of our states and who has not been impeached or thrown out of office, of sufficient intelligence and experience to qualify for higher office, including the Presidency.
In my mind, qualifications for our Presidency is a nebulous thing encompassing many different and varied qualifications. I do not think Sarah Palin is there yet but she has all the attributes to be so.
As for Bob's reference to my Alzheimer's, I'll just consider the source and say I am cognizant most of the time...soirees excepted.

If Palin had not resigned and had done a credible job of running Alaska during an economic downturn and with media scrutiny I might think differently of her.

Unfortunately that did not happen and someone who quits when the going gets tough is not my idea of a good leader.

I am not going into a long explaination of what she said her reasons for resigning were here. If you really want to know, look up her interview with Chris Wallace. As I said previously, the reasons she gave were well said and sound, IMO.

She has given many reasons at various times as to why she chose to resign.

None of them are valid IMO.

Some have been outright disproved by research (to save the taxpayers money for her legal battles) or her actions (to keep her family out of spotlight).

Which ones specifically do you feel were valid?

I don't think any of them stand up to much scrutiny or override the fact that she swore to do a job/serve a constituency and then quit halfway through.

Obama vs. Palin speech cost analysis...

I know this is going to stir the pot, but I just can't resist. Maybe it will serve to put a nail in this dead horse. Here is a cost analysis done between an Obama speech and a Palin speech...
