There are a lot of people, besides me, who would disagree with you. There is a presentation on Feb. 13th at the library all day on the Constitution and what it is and what it means. I'll be there to refresh my memory. Might I respectfully suggest you and any others who have the same impression you express above do the same? I, and my wife, will skip an hour if necessary to attend "Hands Across the Sand". I am sure you would be welcome.

Might I respectfully ask what organization is presenting this presentation, because the "who" will say volumes about the tone of this gathering.

The bottom line is that conserrvatives like Palin because she speaks to them and liberals liked Obama because he spoke to them. Due to their ages neither is particularly experienced or overly qualified for POTUS. But if experience and qualifications were all you need then McCain would be POTUS.
Liberals are becoming disenchanted with Obama because he has found that Americans generally like a little right of center. In other words, we like someone to talk fiscal responsibility but do not like the hard choices that brings. Palin will find the same thing if she ever gets there.

Thank you for the answer. Its not Left wing as I thought it might be. The constitution workshop is a one time thing, I believe, sponsored by the Libertarian Party.

So I found the event announcement on the Walton County Tea Party website- are Libertarians and Teabaggers the same?

Walton County Tea Party Patriots

May be worth attending.

It might have been worth attending, but it now appears it will have an agenda. I would have been interested in a discussion of the Constitution without all the tea party commentary.

Uncalled for Bob. Age bias is ugly.

Andy, I have scanned this thread and way back you said something to the effect that Palin connects with 'the hard working people of this country'. Listen, I work hard and assure you, she does not connect with me. You are right in saying she is viciously attacked by the libnut left but in my opinion she just doesn't seem like she has the 'right stuff' to be our President. I am sure she is personable, accomplished in her own way and not stupid, but her pandering to the gun and knife show crowd just doesn't impress me.

Think of it like this-does Sarah Palin have the potential to achieve greatness that would warrant her image being carved on Mount Rushmore? It might seem silly, but really, that is what we should be looking for in a potential President...greatness. I don't see it in her. Surely the GOP has better, potentially great Presidents among the ranks who warrant much closer attention than Palin.
uncalled for is favorably comparing a second rate public university with harvard.

I'm kind of tempted to go, I love hearing people explain how the Fed is a conspiracy and the government has no right to tax us etc. I'll bet dollars to donuts there's at least one birther ranting about naturalization.

Andy, what I don't have a clue about is why you are being so darn rude. I would appreciate the courtesy of an answer to my question.

You said Palin has all the attributes to be POTUS but that she isn't "there yet". Please tell me which attributes she possesses that lead you to believe that she is POTUS material and what she needs to do to be there yet.
All right. Honesty, Integrity and love of family for starters. At this point, she needs to convince independents that she is not just another politician. Actually, that goes for all segmemts of the political spectrum. Also, 2012 is a long way off. I, and many others may not be here, so until we are closer it is really a moot point. I'm looking forward to Nov. of 2010, though.:D
