I adore the Callaway Gardens speckled grits Triple Crown Product. They are the best! I like grits with a little butter, a little salt, and a lot of black pepper. Oh, and like Shallowsfuzz, they're even better next to a fried egg so I can dip the grits in the yolk. That's why at Red Bar for breakfast I always order fried eggs/grits/bacon/wheat toast. Hey, Shallowsnole, does Shallowsfuzz sop up the rest of the yolk with his bread/biscuit? YUM-MY!

What kind of southerner are you?

I agree I sop everything my chocolate gravy in my biscuits, biscuit and deer meat, toast and egg yolk my 6 year old even says the best way to eat grill cheese is "scooped up" in soup. Come on DD surely you sop a little.

I make mine with real butter, and sharp cheddar cheese. I have a Fish and Grits night for dinner at my house about once a week.

I can't wait to try Allifunns' Shrimp and Grits. YUMMY!

:rotfl:Ok..I'll give you the biscuits and gravy..nothing better. But it has to be cream gravy--kinda on the thick side. I guess it's a texture/consistency thing. I just don't really like wet bread. I'll eat most stuff like pancakes, but put some bread pudding in front of me and it'll make me hurl. Can't explain it. Eggs/yolks are just vile and when you sop the bread in them, well, I'd just as soon eat something like....oh, I don't know.......broccoli.

Just butter and salt, and then a little more butter :D.
BTW, Great Southern's grits are worth going for.

Well, you have never had my famous White Chocolate Bread Pudding have you? I will have to make you some, and you will change your mind about hurling. ;-)

I'm with DD. Not crazy about runny yolks anyway, but I will scoop grits up in my toasted bread (lately a croissant) and then strategically place a piece of bacon on top! The perfect breakas samich!

I hear you - I only do runny yolks w/ hashbrowns - all other eggs must be FULLY cooked! Hate runny scrambled eggs.
