At least he'll go to Peruvian jail (only 35 yrs. in Peru??) and then Aruba...we won't have to pay for his incarceration. I guess the Holloway Family could file a civil suit and completely bankrupt him.

You know how some things just rub you wrong way? Well, I have a confession: I am not a proponent of the death penalty, but for some reason it seems reasonable here. I suspect he has lied to the nth degree regarding Nathalie Holloway and this will surface. Every life is precious and I am not changing my views on the death penalty....I am vehemently opposed. However, something appears and feels particularly (as bluecat stated) mean-spirited about this guy. The strength he had and used to break her neck completely overwhelms me! I cannot phathom this. It's a very personal tactic and force.

The death penalty has always reasonable. You just have never been emotionally invested in the argument until now. And no, every life is not precious. This guy is expendable.

How do you know if someone has been emotionally invested? You might be wrong about that.

Santiago, have you ever heard the phrase, "Never say never or always?"

Lucifer, thank you very much for your comment in #22.

2 Bits of good news in case today

I saw some news on the case today and two new bits of news gladdened my heart.

First, Joram has agreed to tell Aruban authorities where Natalie Holloway's body is.

Second, a Peruvian lawyer said that people talk about how bad Turkish prisons are mainly because they've never seen how really miserable Peruvian prisons are.

That second part made me very happy.

I heard this, too. Evidently, the Holloway thing is a ploy to get himself into a better prison. Aruba is easier and they have no physical evidence of him killing her, so he would be an accomplice at best. A few years in Aruban prison, then perhaps extradition to Peru?? Criminals are highly intelligent and he is no exception......or, he's being coached by someone.

So, what was stored on his computer that made him break the Peruvian's neck? This is absolutely horrifying! There is a part of me that wishes we could try him in Alabama. He is one extremely sick man.

He'll be more abused in a Peruvian Prision. I say he won't make it out of there ever. Alabama would give him 3 squares, mental evaluations, digital cable TV, health care and a host of other wasted amenities. In Peru he probably be in a multi prisioner cell, No TV, no health care and no Daddy to watch his back. It's truely disgusting another innocent girl had to die, the FBI should have had him already, but be assured he'll suffer much more in a Peruvian prision than he would have here. Alabama would've given him the dealth penalty had the crime occurred in Alabama but in other Countries one never knows how justice is carried out there. His connects in Aruba may have gotten him off in a trial there or a least a cushy sentence.
He'll be somebody's little boytoy in a Peruvian Hellhole soon enough. After his sentencing the next news about him will be how he was brutally killed while in prision. And no tears shall be shed over that. And if his parents aren't to blame in some way for all of this then who else is?

Just learned there is no extradition between Netherlands and Peru. We have extortion charges against him and could end up with him in our nice $50K/yr inmate prisons like you are describing, BeachSteelers.

He's doing everything he can to get to Aruba. I guess Aruba could try him and send him to us, then we send him to Peru when we're finished with him. Eck, Eck, Eck!

The Peruvians are saying that he must serve any Peruvian prison sentence before they'll let him be extradited.
