I never knew his last name, I assume it is the same one. (not too many Whips, I would imagine) I have a friend who lives across the street, I'll call and see if he knows anything.

William Henry Pruner, aka Whip. So sad that he is gone. I met him when he first moved to the area and his son Hank was still in diapers. What is so sad is that his ex wife died in a car accident at Hwy 98 and Bay Dr in 1997 and then Hank died a few years ago. All so tragic.

Whip was a hoot to be around and he bartended for us at the Island Grill. A bar and grill in Seagrove that has been torn down. Circa 1989-1991. His bar was always spotless and he called it his "cleab boat." I have lots of Whip stories and it has been mentioned that we have a bon fire at the beach in his memory so his friends can have a chance to honor him.

Yes, it is all very sad :sosad: I have known Whip since the first week he moved here and I loved him very much as a friend and when I found the obit today, it totally caught me off guard. I spoke with him about a month ago and we exchanged new phone numbers and I was wondering about him a few days ago. I am deeply saddened by his passing and wondering if anyone knows what happened?

He has been sick for a while. I am not positive, but I think he had cancer. Love and prayers to his family.

There was a private ceremony held this last Thursday.
Family and close friends were there to celebrate his life.

So many wonderful stories were shared about Whip. He was a wonderful man who was loved and will be remembered by all those who had the opportunity of meeting him.

RIP Whip.................save a dance for me
