We have had one in the past, but fave make up or product review?

I'm trying to get back to my inner girlie or inner dame at my age. After working outside for a few years to get back on my feet, I'm finding it so hard to get back to dressing up and doing my makeup for work. I still often catch myself doing the ball cap and jeans when I get frustrated. I'm lucky that my publisher doesn't mind, but we often come to work dressed alike :D T-shirt, jeans, ball cap. I want to looked more pulled together or girlie, but helping with my make over may be another thread.

So far, I've discovered the "smokey eye" look just makes me look like I'm hung over and forgot to take my makeup off before I went to bed. Most everything else just slides off my face in the heat or I look over-done and tarty. Any tried and true products you love?

Here is my list that I like so far.

Loreal double extend beauty tubes mascara (will not come off and give you raccoon eyes)

Nars blush in orgasm. I have the powder form and it always looks pretty natural, but not in summer to me. I'd like to try the multiple they sell in the stick form. Has anyone tried it?

Estee Lauder perfectionist cp: A skin cream that leaves my skin matted and smooth.

Clear gloss/ tinted lip balm or Clinque Angel red lipstick.

Also, who does real eyebrow shaping on 30a. Not just a usual wax that leaves you with the pencil thin look? I need some help with my arches.

What do you use or like in the summer?

I have used Bare Escentuals foundation for years. I have semi-oily skin and HATE the feel of make-up on my skin, especially in summer. You cannot feel this make-up at all, and it stays true all day - amazing. I use BE blush, also. That and Maybelline liquid eyeliner, waterproof mascara (forgot which one I'm using now). Revlon ColorStay lipstick #225, and I'm done. I can't do eyeshadow in summer; it creases. I'll occasionally use it for evening, and when I do, it's Bare Escentuals. Oh, and a concealer stick pre-foundation for these dark spots.

You're gorgeous. And funny! Let's have a margarita clinic instead.

Ugh. I hate makeup. Can we talk about margaritas instead? Then maybe y'all can talk me into slapping expensive crap on my face that's only gonna slide off in this humidity.

Well you can sit there and drink, Miss Naturally Beautiful, but someone else needs to help me with my brows. They look like millipedes are attacking my forehead.

I think all of this is brought on by the midway blahs. It's been over a year since I had a cigarette. I've lost 35 pounds and I just turned 41. My style is changing and I need direction. :dunno:

So, go get the blender, hefer.

No I am naturally lazy and probably need a vanity injection soon or I will be in sweatpants 24/7.

BTW, it's heifer. What an accomplishment- this is like correcting Peapod's grammar!:lolabove:

Can I play, too?! I'm fantastic at shaping brows, and I REALLY like margaritas!

I use a strange mix of products-- I do LOVE anything BE, but I love to play with color, and sometimes the BE shades just aren't intense enough. I also like Pixie and Physician's Formula for eyeshadows, Boots No. 7 Maximum Volume mascara in brown/black, Estee Lauder (ANYTHING Estee Lauder, really) but particularly their Artist's eye crayon in softsmudge black.

I love NP Set's Lip Stain and Plumper in Star, EL's High Gloss in Rose, Pixie's RoseLipTreat #2, and Neutrogena's Moistureshine Gloss in First Blush... Good stuff...

Oh, and I've recently developed a love affair with Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro nail polish--it's got the most amazing, wide, flat brush--just one stroke will cover your whole nail, and it's totally goof-proof! Never underestimate the positive energy of a good mani-pedi when you're changing your style... A fun pop of color can change your whole outlook for the day!
