Yes those were politically tumultuous times as well. I still remember Hillary's "right-wing conspiracy" interview, and the general ugliness of the Lewinski affair. As to which side was uglier or first or whatever, I really can't comment as my political hate speech experience only goes back around twenty years. I get the sense that this has been going on for ages but that today, through the internet echo chamber, things are more amplified.
I've actually been experimenting with tuning out political blogs as of late, and I'm finding life less stressful because of it.
Me too. Ignorance is blissful, indeed. My cable company in Atlanta has revamped their stations and I no longer have expanded - been about three weeks so far. I've been too busy to call them to discuss options. It's nice not having CNN, FOX, Weather Channel, who sensationalizes probably more than news channels. I get all the news I need from local at 6 and 11PM. Catch up with Y'all on oil, etc........life is good! And, simple! ;-)
I wish the cable companies would let us 'a la carte' stations we like. I'd be happy with my regular channels, HBO, Showtime and IFC.....am done with news!
That's about as "mean" as I get.
