America Meet Sharron Angle

Crazy thread. A lot of people bashing this woman. The important thing is, she's potentially replacing Harry Reid. Pee Wee Herman would be an improvement over Reid, so Angle, regardless of her religious leanings, is certainly an improvement.

Reid needs to go, along with all the other career politicians in Washington. I wish Angle the best of luck.

However bad you think Reid is, the situation can't be improved by replacing him w/ someone whose positions include:

Withdraw from U.N.
Phase out Social Security
Phase out Medicare
No abortions at all, even for rape & incest
Eliminate Dept. of Education
Eliminate Environmental Protection Agency
Stop Flouridation of drinking water
Repeal Health Insurance Reform
Global warming is not caused by human activities
Alcohol should be illegal

I would hope that there are at least a handful of people in NV who you might consider even worse than Reid. I would hope that the handful would include Sharron Angle.

Withdraw from U.N. - sounds good to me, it's about time we got serious about this discussion. We primarily fund the U.N., a disfunctional, corrupt, weak, and ineffective global body that has little positive impact on the world. Most of the organizations within the U.N. could be replaced with existing private international organizations. The money we send to this body is largly wasted or wittled away. It needs to be scrapped.

Phase out Social Security - A move toward private retirement accounts for younger works would be a welcome change.

Phase out Medicare - I haven't heard her actually suggest this, but regardless, even if Angle does feel this way, such legislation would never pass.

No abortions at all, even for rape & incest - her religious beliefs intermingle with her political beliefs, this is unfortunate. I'm not sure which is worse though, politicians like Reid who believe in abortion on demand, even for late term prengancies, or people like Angle who want to see abortion restricted? This is a wash.

Eliminate Dept. of Education - Amen brother! Along with about 20 or 30 other worthless departments.

Eliminate Environmental Protection Agency - I've not studied the EPA much, so I can't say wether this would be good or bad. Nor have I heard the details on her view of the EPA.

Stop Flouridation of drinking water - This is what her consituents want by majority. Whether you agree or disagree, this a local issue for the people of Nevada.

Repeal Health Insurance Reform - Amen brother! Repeal that sucker!

Global warming is not caused by human activities - Prove to me otherwise.

Alcohol should be illegal - This one is a little over the top. I wish she leaned more libertarian. But since she would never get it passed, what difference does it make.


Again, overall, she sounds a heck of a lot better than Harry "This War Is Lost" Reid. Throw the bum out!
