BeckyBee, i read similar things. Thankfully I don't believe everything I read.

Today, I read that Obama would lose the election running against any republican. Independents, men and many democrats are deserting the ship. No presidential election can be won without the vote from men.
Geo, it made a lot of sense up until the last paragraph.Let me try this-
Think about Sowal posters. Think of the ones u agree with politically. Think of the ones you disagree with.
Think of the ones you disagree with but still like. They are respectful. They seek to understand and to be understood. They aren't snarky or sarcastic. They avoid disingenuous communication. They try to build bridges and seek common ground.
Think of the ones you disagree with that you don't particularly care for. They are mean spirited, snarky, sarcastic and communicate disingenuously. They believe those who disagree have something wrong with them. They want to make fun of folks who disagree with them. Label them.
If Sarah Palin was a Sowal poster, I believe she would fall into this last category. I could only get behind someone I don't agree with if they fell into the other category.
Does this make any sense, Andy?
You, like every other liberal on this board, have absolutely no inkling of what the Tea Party is all about nor how it functions......stands for common sense, moral values..... individual responsibility and those kind of things with which you do not seem familar..
You are a great one to be telling anybody to take their meds! You, like every other liberal on this board, have absolutely no inkling of what the Tea Party is all about nor how it functions. I am not going to try and explain it to you as I will assume that you are bright enough to research it for yourself. Suffice it to say that it stands for smaller government, less spending, common sense, moral values, states rights, individual responsibility and those kind of things with which you do not seem familar. It also includes fair taxation. Talking to you, LS, Poppy, AC and a few others is like talking to a brick wall. There are many on SoWal who are liberal but can listen and evaluate during the discussions. Then there are others who cannot. The same goes for conservatives but not so much because there are so few of them. I have kept quiet as long as I could regarding all the rhetoric that has transpired in this thread and at least one other regarding the Tea Party but I finally reached my limit. The Walton County Tea Party is called the Tea Party Patriots. If you really want to know what they are all about, instead of voicing unknowing opinions, attend one of their meetings at 6:00 PM at the South Walton Library annex on the 2nd Thursday of each month. You'll find people, much like you, interested in our community, state and federal government and how they are run.
One thing more. We are not racist. The Tea Party strongly supports Mike Hill, a candidate for the Florida House. He is a small business owner, an Air Force Academy graduate, a Conservative and he is black. He will make a wonderful representative.
Geo, she is only one member of the Tea Party. There are hundreds of thousands of us, now, and no, we are not just Republicans, we are concerned citizens. Every political group has those not liked by many and those adored by many. The generalizations I made in an earlier post need no explanation if you are in the least bit intelligent. They are pretty self evident and all on SoWal can figure them out if they wish to do so.Andy, seriously? Her campaign stump speech was so nasty. Very mean spirited. The whole "how's that hopey changey thing workin out forya" sarcastic attitude.
Yes, she's doing it to play to her base and mobilize folks who agree with her and seem to genuinely dislike those who don't. But it does nothing to win votes from those who don't-
which is my point. Just because folks who voted for Obama are fed up with Obama doesn't mean they would vote for someone who pretty much demonized them and their views.
Tea partiers should be able to find someone who is a bit more of a uniter who stands for the same cornerstones u mentioned previously.
Nuetral. The TP folk will neither help nor hinder. They are simply the base of the Republican Party with a trendy, catchy name to try and sound "new and improved"-- there is no difference from any other time in their history-- they are just now more clever at the way they are able to both accommodate and incite their more racist factions than ever before, although they are not willing to admit it publically.
