Right here!
Critical parts of the coalition that delivered President Obama to the White House in 2008 and gave Democrats control of Congress in 2006 are switching their allegiance to the Republicans in the final phase of the midterm Congressional elections, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll.

Republicans have wiped out the advantage held by Democrats in recent election cycles among women, Catholics, less affluent Americans and independents; all of those groups broke for Mr. Obama in 2008 and for congressional Democrats when they grabbed both chambers from the Republicans four years ago, according to exit polls.

I'm surprised at how all these voting blocks are transitioning toward the other party. There must be a lot of rage and regret out there, but I don't fully understand what the root causes are. Unemployment? definitely. Spending, yep. But beyond that? Healthcare reform? Nanci and Harry? A disgust of single party rule? Glen Beck? Hard to say.

MY sense of things... (it's difficult to unearth comprehensive statistical analyses by any major media outlet)...

Republicans AND Democrats, alike, ONLY recognize themselves and how they compare to the 'other ONE'. The major media, lazily, plays into that old game.

Together in lock-step, the National D-n-R parties are so narcissistic that (curiously) it never occurs to them to dig deeper... to understand (and act on) the what/why of the 'absolute numbers' of voting population that is increasingly REJECTING BOTH OF THEM. I believe the 'rejection' voting trend has been rising fairly steadily since the early 90's.

If there's been any D-n-R response to the trend against them, it's evidenced in increased hammering on messaging of this sort:

1. Do NOT waste your vote on a 3rd option
2. Get Out & Vote - if only for the lesser of 2 evils
3. Voter Guides that ONLY address the 2 D-n-R candidates (omitting OTHER candidates).

Seems like the 'D-n-R' are conjoined twins; invested in protecting their 'singular' power structure. The stage production 'fights' the Big 2 CO-produce to distract us from 'other options' are on a par with WWR staging.

Have any of you ever not voted for a particular seat because you didn't believe in either candidate?

Not in the past. However on Tuesday, I'll be writing in Sponge Bob Squarepants for one and Marge Simpson for another.

Yes. When I don't want to vote for any of the candidates for a particular office, I write-in Mick Jagger. Pointless, I know.

You go, girl!

I'd vote for Obama if one could vote for professorial positions at Harvard. I think that's his calling. Think about it, Barry. You know I'm right.
