No, wack-a-doo whose twisted mind latched onto a movie and incendiary rhetoric to justify yet another episode of violence.

Since the wife who claims he wouldn't hurt anyone was either unaware or complicit in his long term plan, I doubt she is a credible source.

And the way you get an answer as to why you did not get hired after your probation period is not by doing nothing for 6 months and then trying to kill people.

They kept talking about how he has been preparing for this, even noting that he took some self-defense classes a year ago. Maybe he should have also taken some target practice. The guy popped off several rounds and all he hit was the paper on the desk and himself.

If the felon wants a gun, he is not going to go through the legal channels to get one, which supports the theory that regardless of how hard you make it to get a gun, the criminals will always be able to get them.

And Yes Ginger would have been better off attacking with a chair instead of her purse, she is very lucky to be alive.

It was all very scarey and could happen at anytime to anyone.

Felons can only obtain guns illegally. It's illegal in the first place for them to own one.

Had she attacked him with a chair she and more people would most likely be dead. The purse likely didn't hurt him, a chair would have hurt and probably exacerbated the situation much faster.

You're much better in a situation like that to stall as much as possible to allow law enforcement to arrive.

My theory (based on complete speculation) is that the reason Ginger is alive is because the gunman didn't take her seriously. Reminds me of when my grandmother used to try to smack me when I was in high school.

I think this video will be used by local governments as an example of what to do/what not to do during this type of situation.

Someone tries to take me hostage, they are getting attacked with whatever I can find - typically a purse or something in it. Hell, I'll put my camera in a sock and beat you with it.

Not saying that is always the smartest move, but it's how some of us are programmed.

Somehow we got on the topic of self defense at dinner one night and of all the dirty and maiming tactics we were taught, both Mama Scooterbug and I ONLY draw the line at gouging out someone's eyes with our fingers.

I think we'd get along real well with Ginger.

Scooterbug,

Your on my team.

I have always loved those little feisty grandmothers.

Me too- and my point exactly. Feisty is a trait that makes us take someone less seriously as a real threat.

Ginger is about to be on Lawrence O'Donnell right now on MSNBC. Tune in now. Channel 55 on Mediacom cable in Sowal.
