Well, DD knows how sick and tired I was with my hair when I got back to Big D after fall trip. Went in for haircut and natural coloring :sarc: and Hakan says..."Let's do a perm." So, we did it. He does a double perm (to keep frizzing away)....small rods, setting lotion, take it down and roll on bigger rods and neutralize. I now have some bigger hair and feel oh so close to God!

Of course, this now means another trip every three months and more $, but it has been funn for a change!

I wouldn't mind some big smooth curls. I'll let y'all know what happens with the hot rollers.

Have Y'all considered getting 'wiggy' with it?

I have no energy for rollers-n-sech as that.

As a former beauty queen, I LOVE me some BIG hair! I used hot rollers every day for years until this last cut... Now I have to flat iron it, which is a big pain in the tush. I was kind of on auto-pilot with the rollers--I could get 'em in and out in 5 minutes flat.

I love wigs! I don't know that I could pull off wearing one all the time, but they're so much fun to play dress up with...:cool:

close to God!

I must see this hair-do, MK!!! It sounds adorable.

I would possibly go for a perm for something different and for body, but do NOT make me do rollers or a flat iron or anything beyond a blow dryer, ever again! I was cured of hot rollers way back when.

DD - mine is flat and straight (naturally) which is kind of boring.. but, personally, I'm ready for SHORT again! super short!

Don't worry so much about what's "in" - if it looks good on you and works with your hair type, you can make it be in style.

Of course, I can say this because I don't think I have ever had a fashion correct hairdo.....................but really, the most trendy au courant styles are the worst looking ones years later.

Thankfully I am going white (thanks BP), not grey - so I can pretend it's blond highlights. ;-)

Miss Kitty, we want pics!

I learned a new trick from my hairdresser to make my thin hair look bigger. After washing it, I use clips to round-brush it while drying it, bottom to top (this is not a new trick -- I learned this from Van at Van Michael). I only do three layers because I don't have the patience/time to do it as meticulously as hairdressers do. I quickly flat-iron each layer. This is the new trick: I put in 4 big velcro rollers on the top, two on each side by my face, and 1 in the back. None around the nape of my neck. I apply hairspray and dry the rollers for about 30 seconds total. Then I put on my makeup, get dressed, pull out the rollers, and voila ... volume! I quickly (as in about 10 seconds) flat-iron the sides so it won't look so round.

I can shower, do hair and makeup, and dress in 20-25 minutes!

Jeffrey is the best!
