Andy, was it necessary for you to fill out another form for the reimbursement? When I stopped in yesterday the ladies at Chelco, said they did not know what had been decided about a refund.

thanks to everyone for all the info....this is one of the things I love most about this forum--neighbors helping neighbors (near and far) with information that we can't seem to get any other way.

No, Glenda, I did not have to fill out a second form. I called CHELCO when my latest bill arrived to ask them if I should subtract the sales tax. The lady at customer service said I could do so if I wished but that I would be given credit for it. At that time, she also informed me I would be re-imbursed 3 years of back sales tax. We shall wait and see.

I received notice of a $383 refund with a Chelco bill I received today. I had sent in the form last week, so admire their speed. I spoke with someone on the phone who gave me a number to call the state of Florida in regards to rebates for further out than 3 years for which paper bills from the past are required. Here it is: 800 - 352-3671. I take it as a good sign that they were out of forms!

Sowal gets the community award for providing the means to get the information out.

I am thrilled that passing along such a small piece of information could lead to a little financial windfall for people.

Great info, but looks like I'm free and clear from the Sales tax, however I was wondering if anyone else's bills have been unusually high the last two months? According to my statement I'm more than doubling my total kwh used than Jan and Feb of last year but havent done anything different other than NOT using my dryer because its broken. If not, does anyone know how to check if somethings running my power usage up? Thanks in advance for the help!

I agree.....my bills for Oct and Nov, after installing a new heat pump and new Energy-saver appliances, averaged about $130. It went up to about $180 for December, mostly due to extreme cold weather, and my having trim carpenters in and out of my house (leaving door open) all day for about two weeks. This past bill was $195 (my highest ever)....

I'm anxiously awaiting my next bill to see if I qualify for the refund (better chance than GCCF), and so I can try to better determine what the heck is going on! Something is definitely wrong, and I'm suspicious that it involves Chelco more than how my family uses electricity (which is pretty conservative, and very consistent).
