florida2011budget.jpg

The top level breakdown for Florida's budget in 2011. Scott may tweak this a little through the veto pen but I doubt the percentages will change much.

I see a big ol' 40% we should be working to reduce!

Anobdy touches that and they get crucified by the liberal media. The only direction that is headed is up up up and away.. ObamaCare will add another 3-7 billion to it over the next few years.

We did however get some legislation on it this year, medicaid is moving away from a fee for service system and into a managed care system over the next few years. We also enacted a co-pay system. Unfortunately the Obama administration has to approve such changes, and in all likelyhood they won't.

I guess conservatives never use health and social services.

Really, IW, I'll bet there are plenty of conservatives who are are Medicare, Medicaid, and even welfare at this time. I would also bet that even if they are not they have to make the decisions as to what to pay and what not to pay. I would even bet that there are bills at the hospital and other services that people who consider themselves Conservatives have yet to pay. So to make a blanket statement such as that is laughable. Oh IMO.

I was talking about the reaction people and the media have to reforms?? Not sure what you were trying to say here.

Same thing I'm talking about. People from all political viewpoints want, need, and use these services but Fox News and conservatives, like Idlewind, pretend only liberals are poor and use them.

Last year, i applied for Medicaid for my kids. We don't have health insurance so i thought I'd see if they qualified. They did. But, you have to accumulate so much money in bills before they pay it. In essence, what i got from it was that if we wanted Medicaid, we had to rack up lots of bills within a certain time period for Medicaid to cover it. Long story short, they still aren't covered because i won't run my kids to the emergency room every time their nose runs.
