  • Anyone see any break out contenders not on this list? :dunno:

After this opening prayer by a bigoted heavy-metal radio host with whom Michelle Bachmann has created an alliance, you might want to take her off the list of serious contenders.

Catch the CLOSING of this opening prayer in the Minnesota House Chamber:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=5n_NDn_7lfw

The Minnesota House Speaker, a Republican, has since publicly apologized, saying "I denounce him, his actions and his words."

It will be curious how Bachmann responds ..................

I have to figure at least 20% of the people in this country are non-Christian, and in some of the swing states it could be higher. You know this [attitude] is automatically [going to be] linked to Republican conservatism. I guess they don't care about Florida in the 2012 presidential.

Boo hiss - Daniels is out.

Things are looking pretty bleak for republicans.

Agreed. He actually would have brought fiscal responsibility to the table and a moderate agenda on most other items.

He probably recognizes how bleak the hopes are for the current Congress and Administration to actually fix anything.

Maybe, if we are still holding elections in 2016, he'll run then.

What is left then for the Republicans is the business,/establishment type Repubs-i.e., Pawlenty, Romney, Christie (?), or Bush(?)--possibly?

It will be that "type" against the Tea Party group's favorites--i.e., Bachman, Palin, Cain.

My guess is that they will make a disastrous decision to appease each other by splitting the ticket between the two factions, or the mainstream candidate will be forced to drag the ticket down with a negative slant on social issues.

Pawlenty would be a very respectable candidate, but I'm not sure he has enough pizazz to win. Hard to say though, there hasn't been a lot of polling, but I sense there is a lot of hidden disillusionment with democrats. We'll no more next year as the election approaches. (Likely voter polls will also tend to be skewed, so we may not know until election day.)

Thank God he is out. Why do fiscal conservatives always have to be conservative jerks who want to take down women's reproductive health and freedom rights.
