Congratulations SWHS Class of 2011!

Graduation is tomorrow night- and what an exceptional class! This year was a big turnaround year for SWHS, with a new principal and assistant principal- the atmosphere really improved and in the words of a great local educator, Meredith Spence, we really saw the start of an "expectation of excellence".

From academic excellence to school spirit, it really was a good year. At last week's awards ceremony, the list of college acceptances and awards was impressive for such a small class. We also loved that South Walton's AP test scores are some of the highest in the state!

I've heard that a student in Florida has to have a 4.0 and very high SATs to get into UF. DargVader, you and your family must feel so proud. As Gator fans who know your family, we're proud that you are joining the Gator Nation.

I just found the baggie with four little tickets for graduation on my kitchen counter. Are those only for if it had to be moved inside, or are they limiting it to four peeps per family? Wes has 14 people coming!!

I just found it too! I am guessing it is for rain and we have to go to auditorium- had heard a limit of 4 if moved inside.

14 people- that's some dedicated fam and friends to sit outside for 2+ hours in the heat and yellow flies! I am hoping it is OK to bring bottled water!

My son graduates tonight I just wish the humidity was not so bad since we will all be sitting outside. My son will be attending NWFSC for mixed media, theater and video production. He is so excited.
