Suggestions for good Mexican / Tex-Mex?

El Mercadito is Latin (as they informed us). La Cocina has watered-down margaritas. The shrimp diablo used to be great, but now we've had it a few times, it's meh. If you live in Texas, you won't be impressed by any of the Tex-Mex restaurants here.

We cook our daughter's recipes for fish tacos, Mexican slaw, homemade salsa, and guacamole at the beach. Also her chicken taco recipe is very good.We buy Gordo's cheese dip at Publix, and make Big D's margarita. Now that's a margarita!

maybe you haven't tried the Cadillac margarita at La Cocina! you can have two but you shouldn't, and of course I do!
