The Sargassum Grass is natural and good. It offers protection for essential small marine life and offers nutrients and stability for the sand dunes when it washes up. Yes, it can be a little messy, but nature is that way.

On the other hand, that darn green June Grass...

Yes, leave the grass. The beaches look the way they do now because the grass has shown up for thousands of years. We must admire how nature works and stop changing it to suit us.

I have seen some great uses for seaweed on the beach. Instead of writing in the sand, people are making giant letters out of seaweed to spell out funny things- fun to see when you are standing up on one of the accesses. We also used to make sand people and the seaweed is the crazy hair and beards. Also, stand out in the water and pick up clumps of seaweed and look closely- there are sometimes critters hiding in there, like little fish and crabs.

Sargassum is good as a loofah for feet if it has a little sand mixed in it.
