CBSSports.com college football writer Dennis Dodd has a name in mind -- South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier. Spurrier started his coaching career in Gainesville in 1978 as the Florida quarterbacks coach, then later returned as the Gators' head coach from 1990-2001. Dodd thinks Spurrier returning to Florida for one last stint would be a fitting end to his coaching career. "Let the speculation begin regarding Muschamp's replacement and let it begin with Steve Spurrier," Dodd wrote. "How cool would it be if Spur Dog ends his career as sort of a "bridge" to the next guy at Florida? Who knows, the way he's going Spurrier might last another 10 years. He's 69, looks 49 and all he wants to do is win." Dodd believes that if this is the move that both Spurrier and Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley want to make, it needs to be done sooner rather than later, so that they can get started on the recruiting trail. "Spurrier will have to answer the speculation -- publicly and soon. Right now, he might be the most sensible replacement.
