... Musk, who is also the founder of SpaceX, addressed the MIT Aeronautics department’s Centennial Symposium for about an hour, mulling international oversight to “make sure we don’t do something very foolish.”

... Artificial intelligence works with the help of computers for completing tasks that otherwise need human intelligence such as speech, recognition or language translation. All mega tech companies are excited about artificial intelligence and are betting on the usefulness of the technology when harnessed correctly. Companies such as Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) (NASDAQ:GOOG) and Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) are keen on developing systems that work like the human brain.

I just sent this to my son-in-law who is getting his Ph.D. in Computer and Electrical Engineering at Georgia Tech in December. He hadn't seen this due to being busy finishing his dissertation. It'll be interesting to see what he thinks. He is inundated with offers related to his specialty in variations of AI.

Has there ever been a new technology that was suspended for possible "unforeseen negative consequences"? Nope.

Big Brother is monitoring us from the sky and capturing every byte of our digital exhaust..., but Big Sister is capturing every miracle of Mother Nature and allowing us to fly around the world sitting in our armchairs.
