So with all that out of the way. Do you support Citibank's gambling being backed by your tax dollars, students who have just graduated being saddled with unforgivable debt they'll never pay off in some cases and the top 1% barely paying taxes?

Go ahead, weasel through that one.

Oh boy, more boxes you and your fellow traveler's like to put people in.

1. No, I don't support bailing out banks.

2. Don't want student loan debt? Don't go to college. Not everyone needs to go. If you do incur student loan debt, make sure you get a degree you can use. (MY wife wanted to teach. We have a large student loan debt. We are paying it.) What's the issue. No free college?

3. Uh, in the US, the top 1% pays more than the bottom 90%. The top 1% earns 19% of AGI, but pays 35% of all tax.

Buh-bye now.

In the US, the wealthiest one percent captured 95 percent of post-financial crisis growth since 2009, while the bottom 90 percent became poorer.

There's a lot fewer people with American Indian blood running through their veins than those that claim it. Most people "discover" their Indian roots when their kids hit high school and talk of scholarships and admissions starts.

Odds are pretty good that if you tan you have Indian, African, Asian or Middle Eastern blood in your veins. Guess which one is the smallest population?

You know, carson, you are a very intelligent, pragmatic individual. It was nice to see some rational response to our issues instead of the ramblings of misinformed syncopaths.

So tell me, whaat is this syncopathic thing? Do they like the syncopated music.

It must be something a person may only acquire if he believes his life experiences are superior to all others.

Your 35% of all taxes statement is wrong, the 35% figure is only federal taxes. Of course, adjusted gross income doesn't measure all income, only what must be reported for taxes. So, for instance, it doesn't include income that those in the top 1% may have made from tax-exempt investments or hidden in some offshore tax haven. Also, federal income taxes do not represent any income group's entire tax burden so taxes paid relevant to percentage of income will be much higher among those earning less, but you gave it a nice try.

Poppy, he's living the republican delusion that he might be the top 1% one day so it must be preserved at all costs.

The funny thing about that delusion is that even winning the lottery won't put you there.

That's what happens when you rely on memes and chain e-mails for your facts.

First, and most importantly, what Local actually asked and I answered:

Local: the top 1% barely paying taxes?
Me:
the top 1% pays more than the bottom 90%. The top 1% earns 19% of AGI, but pays 35% of all tax.

The 35% figure isn't wrong. It may only be Federal taxes, but it isn't wrong. Is it the metric you wish to discuss? No. But I really don't GAS what you want to discuss. I wasn't wrong. What defines barely?

Further Local, to be in the top 1%, according to the IRS and 2010 data, only need to make
$380,354. Therefore, winning the lottery to the tune of $380,354 would put you in the top 1%. Thanks.

Yes, I was wrong about Sen Warren's house. And you say R's can't let things go???????
