Speaking of pontification, I recall that when the referendum for an appointed superintendent came up, I made negative comments about our superintendent and what I thought was the poor job she was doing. I received a PM from one of the more active users on this forum suggesting that we be "positive" and not to single out any politician by name. Yet this same person made negative comments about Gov. Scott and Sen. McConnell after the general election suggesting that they were crooks and even hinted that the voters of Florida and Kentucky were stupid for re-electing them. Selective indignation? I also received a PM from another active user informing me that a hotel was wrong for South Walton County. It seems that if someone has an opinion different from those who seem to control a discussion board they need to shut up or go away. Or better still be banned.

Posturing...speaking to people that don't really care what you say one way or another since you're speaking solely to front yourself as "someone in charge".
Speech or written communication that is generally pointless except to cast favorable light upon the speaker or author as if the message were a pronouncement from on high.
