I think these are some of the things I found a lot of after the oil spill. Are they kind of like hollow, fragile straw type things? I found what I think is a flint rock the other day. Has a shape like an arrowhead but not highly worked as one. (so i was told) I love the interesting finds on the beach!

I think what your finding are worm castings or tubes. The fulgurites are created by lightening fusing the sand or dirt into something like glass...

Unless you know what you're looking for you'd probably just step on it without even realizing it.
