I had to rub my eyes at the last parade in Defuniak Springs for the 4th of July. Right behind Rhonda Skippers convertible was a trailer being pulled with Skipper supporters and Skipper voting handouts being driven by none other than our Supervisor of Elections Bobby Beasley. I have long believed that he favored certain individuals but now it is flagrant. he is supposed to be completely neutral as the supervisor of elections but it is clear he is not. Pictures with the sheriff released everywhere of the two and now this. My issue isn't with the Sheriff (I don't support his good ole boy ways) or Skipper (I support her and her office as they have never had much controversy and provide me good service IMO) but with Beasley. This should be filed as an election commission violation and he needs to be removed from the voting process until it can be determined if he has violated his offices ethical commitments. I will not tolerate this kind of conduct with the person in charge of voting integrity. I don't support Lynch, but if I was her I'd have his head.

I'm not positive it's a violation, but it doesn't seem right IMO. It is typical Walton county....If it's not a violation I will apologize. It might be an elections commission issue instead of Ethics.

No if it is an issue like you are speaking of I am confident it would be an ethics issue. Go to the link they have forms for you to fill out so you can find out.

The Sheriff said something about local politics yesterday on his live web feed on FB. Basically what he said was that he doesn't openly support anyone in our local races but like the rest of us he lives, works, plays and votes here and does so just like the rest of us. He has the right to support anyone he chooses but has made a personal choice not to do so publicly. The image with the Supervisor of Elections was a celebratory image after he was declared the unopposed winner and re-elected Sheriff.

I already said, My issue was not the Sheriff or Skipper, it's Beasley. If that isn't him driving her support trailer in the parade, I want to know so I can apologize. I don't know him well and want to make sure that was him. Did anybody else see that during the parade or was I mistaken.

Why not just call and ask him? Then if it is him file the appropriate forms with the ethics commission so you can find the answers you seek. Saying that, I like Mr Beasley and to be honest this is the first time I have heard anyone complain about him. If you are just trying to get someone else to find the answer to your question, it won't be this guy. Gave you all the info you need to start your search cause I am a helpful sort, but won't do the job for you.

I honestly don't see the difference in Cecilia Jones cavorting all around the county with T. Anderson or Sara Comander contributing to T. Anderson's campaign and what you say Beasley is doing.

Clarification. When the parade route began all of the children were walking along with the small wagon being pulled by Mrs. Skippers supporters. Bobby Beasley was driving his own truck towing his boat with his supporters representing himself. During the parade the smaller children simply got hot and tired and did not want to walk anymore. At this point Bobby was gracious enough to allow the children to sit in the back of his truck. There was nothing intentionally done to create the appearance of an endorsement, and we certainly appreciated Mr. Beasley accommodating the children. Bobby was the hero in this circumstance and we regret any negative feelings toward him as a result of his act of kindness. "Serve Others"

Never heard anyone say anything negative about Bobby Beasley and I will tell you that during parades people get mixed in with each other due to heat and being tired. If someone is in distress you sure cannot deny them a ride.
