From the looks of it we have a new group of spring breakers coming into town. Lots of young people with out of state tags at local grocery/convenience stores. Are they not getting the memo or do they just not care about anything/body but themselves? I am so mad right now at the parents (since most places have a minimum age of 25) that probably rented a place for them and the owners that gladly took their money and told them to come on down. Our cases have more than doubled in the 2 weeks since spring break started and its only gonna get worse if we dont stop people that could possibly be infected from coming and infecting all of us. Since we have a whopping 11 intensive care beds down here.

We want science based opinion/facts, you got it! This begins the 12 Days of Scientific Experts. Enjoy!

Dr Sucharit Bhakdi is a specialist in microbiology. He was a professor at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz and head of the Institute for Medical Microbiology and Hygiene and one of the most cited research scientists in German history.

What he says:

We are afraid that 1 million infections with the new virus will lead to 30 deaths per day over the next 100 days. But we do not realise that 20, 30, 40 or 100 patients positive for normal coronaviruses are already dying every day.

[The government’s anti-COVID19 measures] are grotesque, absurd and very dangerous […] The life expectancy of millions is being shortened. The horrifying impact on the world economy threatens the existence of countless people. The consequences on medical care are profound. Already services to patients in need are reduced, operations cancelled, practices empty, hospital personnel dwindling. All this will impact profoundly on our whole society.

All these measures are leading to self-destruction and collective suicide based on nothing but a spook.

Just to be sure I understand what he said, is he saying the patients that have covid -19 are not in need? I don’t think the ones that are put in ICU on ventilators are in any less need than anybody else. That is precisely why we are trying to "flatten the curve"; to try to take pressure off the medical system. Is your plan to take the covid-19 patients and stack them in the corner? That doesn't sound like capitalism. That sounds like Marxism.

I hope Americans will listen to the science.

NBC News
March 20

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said Friday that Americans will most likely have to continue staying at home and practicing social distancing for “at least several weeks" amid the coronavirus outbreak.

“If you look at the trajectory of the curves of outbreaks and other areas, at least going to be several weeks,” Fauci said in an interview with Savannah Guthrie on the “TODAY” show.

“I cannot see that all of a sudden, next week or two weeks from now it's going to be over. I don't think there's a chance of that. I think it's going to be several weeks.”

Full coverage of the coronavirus outbreak

When speaking about whether it’s time for President Donald Trump to use the Defense Production Act to produce critical supplies, Fauci suggested that the U.S. should be doing everything in its power to slow the outbreak.

“I think we should do everything we possibly can do. I mean, in all sectors, because obviously as I've said so many times, when you think you're maybe overreacting, you probably are not acting as forcefully as you should. So as we've always said, we've got to try very much to stay ahead of the curve.”

Don’t be surprised if you start seeing more Louisiana license plates. NewOrleans is getting hit hard, and those that can get out will get out.

Walton County needs to declare that only Walton County residents will be admitted to Walton County hospitals.
