Well Bob, just read the posts prior mine and maybe you'll catch my point. Aside from that, you are on your own to figure it out.
Look, I have seen every post. And I know there are many folks here who say what they believe. I also don't respond to every post and for the most part don't let it get to me. If you want to refute something then refute something, it isn't like you haven't walked in to this Octagon we call the Lounge. I will also mention, it seems you have posted some inflammatory stuff in the past so please let's not think we all have been on the high road of post here.
The problem with a two party political system is that there will be extreme views on both sides. Extremism on either side is a problem. That said all Trump supporters are now considered extremist and there are a bunch of you. A lot more than on the left. The radical right extremist has proven to be an attack on democracy. I am never going to condone violence of any sort but someone please tell me how the extremist on the left are attacking our democracy?
BTW the great Governor DeSantis (a Trump supporter) has concentrated power in our State Government. The object for the GOP is to concentrate power in their party, stay in power at all costs (voter suppression) and make it extremely difficult for rival parties to gain power. DeSantis eliminated many cabinet positions and so now the Ag Commissioner position is very important in terms of power. Right now a democrat is in that position. Power is the reason why Gaetz seeks this position.
You can be forgiven to have forgotten, like most, that it didn't used to be this way. Extreme views were ignored or shunned. Today's politicians, parties, and corporations, media and social media is profiting from allowing, and fomenting, hate. For instance, watch Trump threaten to form a party, or return to politics as a Republice, simply to have money thrown at him from haters and hatemongers.
Also keep in mind that programs such as welfare, health care for all, quality public education, etc. were not extreme views when this country was saner.
Yes so much has happened these last four years that it is easy to forget how extremism was not well tolerated before Donald Trump. And yes there is money to be made in hate and fear. Sometimes I just can't believe how the GOP has sold their souls for money and power. How do they sleep at night is beyond my comprehension.
