How would you like to put up with the lights and noise of a parking lot and bathhouse 24/7. Not to mention the traffic on Moll Drive which is dedicated to family uses and interests. Do you think SoWal needs a tacky RV park adjacent to a community park, churches and single family residences? Would you want to sit in your yard looking out at that? Is it okay as long as it’s not your neighborhood?
Well I sympathize with NIMBY and if your home backs up to it then there is cause for concern, but devastated is way over the top. A devastated subdivision would be burned or razed to the ground.

An RV Park is not a trailer park full of meth heads. Probably retirees and campers who hopefully will respect each other and our community.

Devastated? - see my recent post on Peach Creek. Killing our ecosystem is devastating.

What was the opposition to the solar? I read a bit about neighboring farmers worried their farms and way of life would be harmed? Seems like unfounded fear to me. Was there something more? Solar seems better than heavy industrial next door or urban sprawl subdivisions.
There was a thought by some that it was not environmentally friendly due to heat damage and the components leaking.

So was this going to be located on Moll Dr and 98 or 393 south of Edgewood Terrace?

That sounds like BS grasping at straws. NIMBY for farmers?
I don't know about that but there was another proposal after that that would have allowed Farmers to sell 5 acre tracts. Not sure whatever happened to that.

What does that mean? To make it easier to carve off and sell 5 acres?

Thanks. Do you know if there was going to be a buffer between Edgewood Terrace and the camp ground? And was this basically be located between the golf cart place and the church?
I don't know the particulars but if you click the docs link there should be drawings and other permit details.

The solar farm opposition was about sour grapes and not being able to sell adjacent parcels for the same price proposed by FPL.

I find it hysterical that a resident of Edgewood Terrace, a trailer park community, would be upset about an RV park. We have plenty of RV parks in south Walton and the majority of them are nice places. Also, Edgewood Terrace is surrounded by a 10 foot wide trench that's is 5-6 feet deep for drainage. Moll Dr. currently doesn't have any residents on it until they build an apartment complex.
