I'm wondering how many "Patriots" are going to keep defending the first President in US history to commit treason?

This is clearly lining up that Trump gave secrets to hostile country(ies). I'll bet anything my statement ages way better than, "but the Clintons took furniture".

LB, wrong again. I couldn't care less about any of it because I know none of us on Sowal makes 1 bit of difference in the grand scheme but I do love coming on here and seeing you guys all knotted up about someone that doesn't even know your alive. If he stole anything why isn't he in jail? Did either of the clintons go to jail when they took furniture? How about the documents Obama took? Lets at least be semi fair in are talking. I could never see the Donald being irresponsible (sarcasm)
You really are more ignorant than I could have ever imagined. It’s right there on the internet.

What crime do you know he committed?

At the very least, theft of government property, but bear in mind that it would be the job of the courts to make the final determination if he is brought to trial. The court of common sense also indicates he is guilty of obstruction of justice for his lack of cooperation in the matter. He's been asked nicely to hand over documents, and it looks like he has gone out of his way to hide them. Whether he turns out to be guilty, common sense enters the picture. Any reasonable person would agree that the government had every reason to be gravely concerned about possible damage caused by the information Trump literally stole. To imply that this search wasn't warranted is absurd. Even if you buy into the questionable argument that Trump declassified what were considered to be highly sensitive TOP SECRET document, the incoming administration has every right and reason to want to assess whether or not that decision to declassify was the result of sound judgement. Based on Trump's past history and character, a reasonable person would have every reason to think it was NOT. So not cooperating with a justifiable government inquiry into THEIR sensitive personal property, which was stolen from THEM, certainly seems like obstruction to me. I think the court of law would be in agreement with the court of common sense.

He is not in jail because of legal discretion. That's it.

Your hatred of Trump has you reaching. How did he not cooperate? You keep using the term ' Any reasonable person' and 'court of common sense', these are your opinions, not fact or truth. Any president can declassify any document they want, period. You know this to be true (if you really did work with classified info). Who's personal property? What was stolen from who?

It's PD. If this guy has actually handled classified documents then he knows what I'm saying is 100% accurate. If I am wrong at all please let me know, no foot eating here. FYI all of the info you guys are disputing is easy to look up, why not do that first? Just my opinion, when we meeting up PD?
You couldn't possibly be more wrong and inaccurate.

As per written documents (google it) Trump declassified ALL of the paperwork he would take with him when he would go to Florida. 2 days before he left office he declassified ALL of the documents he was taking. That being said did he probably take stuff he shouldn't have? I would say yes, as have every one of his predecessors for the last 6 elections. Lets also not overlook the fact that I, personally, cannot see a scenario where Trump himself was loading boxes to take when he left the White House. I'm sure staffers loaded up the boxes and took them out but yall act like Trump handpicked what he left with. No one said he declassified them after his term, that would be silly talk. As far as being a dick there are lots of them around
Okay first of all are you a lawyer? I'm not. However trump's lawyers just pleaded today that those documents were like "overdue library books" :) If you and I have an overdue library book then you and I should be accountable. Now If you have taken a library book without checking it out first then it is called stealing the library book. That is what I would argue if I were a lawyer for we the people. You can not de-classify the library book because it was never yours to begin with. We the people own that library book. If you believe in our Democracy then you have trust in the Judicial branch of government. It is not perfect but it is a lot closer to perfect than the man you believe is above the law...

This is an educated assessment. The only reason the DOJ hasn’t charged him is because they are trying to assess the extent of the damage. I think Matt is correct in his assessment. They have proof positive that he stole the documents. Prove positive that he obstructed justice. And the key thing is several of his lawyers are facing 10 years or more for the same charges. Why wouldn’t they turn on him?

No. Any president cannot declassify any document without going through documented procedure. Again, please prove that he de-classified these specific documents.
