Where Have You Lived

I am just finding my way around here and everyone has been soooo nice and welcoming. I have been active on other forums, but this is the warmest one I have ever found. I found it by looking for info on the area, since my daughter will be a resident in Jan.

I would love to get to know the regulars better. So if you will indulge me with where you have lived in your life and now.

And I promise I won't show up and try to sell you a vacuum cleaner

I was born in Halls, Tn. population 3000 minus one. ;-)
I lived there until I went to school at UT, go Vols.
Then after graduation I taught school in the Cleveland, TN area for about 8 years.
Moved back to West TN and have been in Memphis, ever since. :bang:

How about the rest of yall?

Hey Minnie, we were almost neighbors if you lived in Halls. I was born and raised in Ridgely (Lake County, [Reelfoot Lake]) but then went off to college and never moved back. You know what they say, "it's a good place to be from." Actually, did live in Bartlett, TN for a while but have been in KY for nearly 30 yrs.

Too funny, very small world.

I forgot I lived in Nashville for 3 months, probably because I was trying to forget those 3 months. :floor:

And Dbuck, we used to play the Lake County Falcons in football and basketball and yall always cleaned our clock.

And Collierville is just outside of Memphis.

And Cleveland, TN is basically just a burb of 'Nooga town, so some of us have almost been neighbors at times, very interesting.

And most everyone else's towns I have visited or came close.

Thanks for sharing.

Never been North of the Mason-Dixon line, huh? I'd never been South of it until a certain Merman married me and hijacked me to Atlanta. I'll never forget the first day I was working. It was at an office park on Overlook Hill on the north side of Atlanta and this girl, who saw I was a raw little Yankee, took me outside to show me the beautiful city sky line. It was wonderful! And then she said "This is where Sherman stood when he decided he was going to burn Atlanta." :yikes: Man, was I ever skeered that they might want to burn me, too.

:welcome: Minnie!

This is my list:

NYC (only as a baby)
Somerville, NJ (commuting distance to the Big Apple!!)
Londonderry, NH (the sticks the sticks the sticks but at least only an hour from Boston :D )
Philadelphia (my first apartment!)
Palo Alto, CA (only a year though  )
Boston (where I met the handsome Merman  )
Atlanta (ten wonderful years & two babies)
Indianapolis (until we retire and then ???)
Seagrove Beach (sadly, only every other month or so)

When we were living in Georgia, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution had an article on Seaside--it wasn't even ten years old then--and it was love at first sight. We made a beeline down there and fell in love.

That's what I think about it, too. When we drive to Atlanta to visit my brother, one of the best parts of the trip is going through the Nooga. Talk about beautiful vistas and the pretty river and the railroad lines (don't ask why but I love trains and anything related to them)...yep, good place to live, RO.
