Boiling Eggs 101

I would like to know which one of you very fine sowal ladies gave Beachbummit her new recipe of how to boil eggs? Two weeks ago she tried boiling eggs for two hours only to end with the kitchen smelling something like well.......really rotten eggs. Last night, she decided to modify this recipe by not just boiling eggs for two hours, but for four hours! Again, same result except this time I awaken at 2AM smelling extremely rotten eggs and smoke. I don't know if she should be banned from trying to cook in her sleep or maybe swap her egg boiling recipe with one that requires only boiling the eggs for 10-15 minutes. Or maybe I should just remodel the kitchen, throw out the stove and put a vanity in its place? All I can say is she really needs some help, and think God she can kiss better than she cooks. :rolling:

Meal service on the plane? Well, it's what I call "lite snacks". It begins on take-0ff, with the passengers sticking their head's out the window, opening their mouths really wide and catching a few of those dragon-flies. According to the "Survivor Man" shows, they are really high in protein, and during this time of year (mating season) you commonly catch two....just remember to spit out the wings before swallowing other wise you might choke.:rolling: Compaired to BB's burn't boiled eggs, they get five stars. I have found 500-1000 feet is best for smaller flying objects (but keep a watch out for the seagull dong around panama city airport), but to get the dragon's you need to stay around the 100 feet mark while avoiding towers, condo's and trees. :funn:[/quote]

 Want some eggs?

BB, we could have used some eggs around here tonight!!! Sam (13 yr old) baked 2 batches of cupcakes without eggs!!!!!:bang:First off, we get back from going out to dinner and she says Oh, Mom, I forgot I need to bake cupcakes for school tomorrow! I was like jeeeessh, what for...Algebra extra credit...okay get in the car...so we head to Kroger. We have to buy two mixes and 2 cans of icing b/c these are going to be "reciprocal cupcakes". (Choc/vanilla) She's been making brownies and cookies on her own so I thought she would be fine. I'm in the kitchen while she's doing everything and I even ask...you added everything right? Oh yeah, so she bakes 24 cupcakes. When we took them out of the oven I mentioned that they looked really flat. Then I tasted one and it tasted funny and was totally falling apart. Then I looked at the counter and opened the carton of eggs. A full dozen inside. It's 8:30 p.m. by this time and we were headed back to Kroger to start all over!!!:bang: Funn funn.

ok, this reminds me of the time someone told me how to cook fried rice... I had the eggs ready, sauce, chopped carrots, all to make the fried rice like in the japanesse restaurants.. So I put butter in the pan and heated up up and pour my uncooked rice in the pan, man it started to get burned and smell.. could not figure out what I did wrong.... tried it a 2nd time... later found out the problem...well the person did not tell me that I had to COOK the first. :bang::floor:

I SO RELATE!!

Funny! When I first got married someone gave me a "basics" cookbook. It was full of the helpful basics of cooking. Almost a "Cooking for Dummies" if you will. Everyone needs it, we don't just pop out ready to cook like the Pillsbury Doughboy. Burn and learn my daddy used to say.

This is one of my favorite cookbooks...given to me by a girlfriend who
witnessed one of my teenage cooking "dummy" moves...
The boxed brownies said "mix by hand"...DUH! plunged my bare hand right down into the batter. I will NEVER EVER EVER get to live that down.
