South Beach that is. Miss Kitty mentioned she was starting again. Anyone else? It's been a year or so since I've dieted and I forget a lot of the recipes. I need to lose at least 10 lbs and my goal is 16. I made this cute little ticker chart and I'm testing it to see if it works here. I'm starting at Phase One and I'm getting ready to go the grocery. We can do this together to stay motivated and share recipes!

I know. Imagine what 49 pounds of hamburger meat looks like.Or 49 sticks of butter.
That puts her weight loss into perspective.

lindabobhat -
have you been exercising too? How many grams of fat are you trying to stay at or under? Years ago before my son was born (& after - before all the fast food started happening) I counted my sat. fat and I felt wonderful and lost all the baby weight. My biggest problem now is my husband and son don't like to eat the healthy stuff. I end up giving in to them and eat what they want.
Yes -I have faithfully been riding my exercycle 30-45 mins a day (a real challenge after my back surgery in 2004. I have permanent nerve damage in my left leg and my surgeon never recommended any physical therapy. Riding the bike was so hard at first but my leg feels so much better now. Took me several weeks to work up to over a half hour - the first few times I could barely go 10 minutes.)
I try to stay under 30 grams a day, but I find it pretty easy to stay closer to 20 grams. I've always found it easier to count fat grams rather than calories. I know what you mean about getting the family to eat "the healthy stuff." Which is why I just cook for myself after they're done - I can't force the hubby to join me (though he's getting curious now.) Thank goodness I've gotten past the temptation of all the junk food that's still in the house!

I started South Beach a year ago on the 9th of this month. So far I have lost 49 lbs. I went a little over the edge during the holiday's and just started back yesterday getting serious again. I only gained back 4 lbs though, so that is not bad. It is a lifestyle change for me and it is the only thing that has ever worked for me. I still need to loose about 25 lbs. I have a Bowflex and started back with my workouts last night. We can all do this. A good support group helps. Good to luck to all of us!!!!Congrats KDW :clap_1: You must really have will power. Since you have been on this for a year, it really is not a diet to you but a healthy way to eat. Keep up the good work.

I listen to nbc on the radio in the mornings and they were talking about people taking horse medicine for weight loss. There's a good idea.

It hasn't alway's been easy I will tell you. However, after the first 10lbs were gone, it just motivated me to stick with it. Basically, all I have done is..cut out all sugar, white flour, white bread, white rice, potatoes (which by the way I could live off of, and I haven't had any except sweet potatoes, in a year). I do not eat any processed meats. I know for some people it is all in moderation and you should be able to eat anything you want. However, I was a carboholic. I have learned that I can live without all the bad one's, and still eat as many as I want of the good one's and loose weight. Exercise is a key factor also. You have to burn any of the calories that you eat, plus it just make's you feel better. It is a lifestyle change for me. I never thought I could do it, but we all can. You have to want it real bad, and try real hard not to get discouraged. I knew I was not going to loose all this weight over night. I knew it would take me a while. So don't expect overnight results and you won't be disappointed if it doesn't happen. Hang in there!!!!

Down side--rapid heart rate Up side--fat loss, with increased muscle mass. You would be surprised at the number of medications that are given to animals (at a fraction of the cost I might add) that are virtually the same medication that is given to humans.

Man I was kidding. There was a kid living next door to me when I was at Auburn who was taking Ketamine on a regular basis.

But Ketamine is for a HORSE. I agree about Xenadrine. It kept me up studying many a night. They still sell ephedrine in montgomery. It's all over the place.
