Poll: Do you think the Obama family will swim in the gulf?

This thread includes a poll.

Poll voting is temporarily unavailable here. The discussion and replies remain available.

Will the First Fam get in the water when they visit Panama City Beach next weekend?

Free advice to the prez: get yourself and kids in the swimsuits and get in the water.

If there are pictures of the Prez gazing out over the Gulf in a suit and tie -- Nixon style -- people are going to be p.o.'d....

Let's make it a poll: will they or wont' they get in the water?

I think they will.

I had read Obama is a big fan of Ripley's and enjoys visiting all of the museums around the Country. He wants to see the guy with 4 pupils.

He should sit in on a Glenn Beck University classroom session.

.

I confess, my speculation on how Obama is going to spend his time in Panama City is a textbook example of projection!

What is that? I'm not familiar.

It's a hard core biker bar where Black Creek Rd crosses the river. They would love to see him there!

Yeah. That's it! We got in but the water did not touch our skin. Nor did we inhale any of the local air.

The Obama's won't have enough time to do really anything... THey are on their way to their final summer vacation and managed to squeeze us in AFTER the uproar of the family vacation to Maine a few weeks ago. This is only a photo op and has no significance or bearing of concern from the First Family.

It looks like this 'vacation' will actually last less than 30 hours. Oh well, I guess we can look for satisfaction from those who ***** about Obama vacationing too much. I will not hold my breath, though.

Good gravy, has noone ever taken a brief vacation before in the history of the world?

The First Family is visiting our area. The Press will follow and there will be national news coverage of oil free white sand beaches. Works for me.

Frankly I'd rather the President make a brief visit and then return to dealing with all of the major issues facing our country - many created/exacerbated during an administration that set an all time record for vacation days and LONG vacations.

Note to Obama's public relations corps:

Do not, not, under ANY circumstances allow Obama to be photographed with that giant sinking Titanic Ripley's building in the background. Don't do it! Obamahater gold in that there snapshot, yessir.

They're on their way to their real vacation among the celebrities in Martha's Vineyard. The Redneck Riviera is not their style.

Any photo op would be fine as long as they don't show him "clearing brush in a cowboy hat". Ya know?

I think he needs a good photo in front of Fudpuckers and, then, let the Photoshopping begin!

Regardless of opinions (everyone has one, remember?), it's very exciting when a President visits your back yard! I love the Secret Service, Motorcade, local motorcycle cops, roads cleared and the photo ops, assessments of proper attire, etc, etc......

We've had several visits here by Presidents in the past, but one of the most recent and exciting was the G-8 in Savannah. Pomp AND Circumstance!!!

I'd choose Martha's Vineyard over PCB too. About 10 degrees cooler and at least 15% less humidity. Papa Scooterbug won't visit here from May - October because he thinks hell is when you stand in the shade wearing just your swim trunks and can't drink a can of beer before it gets warm.

I wonder if Robertsondavies has a pimped out POTUS LSV ready for our CIC? He would look sharp tooling around Front Beach Road in one. Just please don't bring that golf cart to 30-A, Mr Obama!

Obama is most definitely not a Cowboy.....highly dubious he'll ever be sportin' a cowboy hat and hanging out on a ranch.....just not his or Mrs. Obama's style at all.

It is only exciting if you don't see the costs which taxpayers pay to get him here, and the costs which local law enforcement has to pay out of their own budgets for additional security and escorts. I bet the people of Panama City would be better financially if the White House just wrote a check to the local governments. I bet it will cost well over $2-3 million in total costs for his travel. While people in Idaho may see him on the white sandy beaches, the reality is that most people around the country don't find it easy to get to PCB, and they won't come just because the President did.

Funny about Ripley's because our local abc news just announced that Ripley's, Pier Park and Gulf World have been approached with the message that the President has interest in visiting those sites while here on vacation.
