Election Results 2010 - The New York Times

The NYT has what appears to be a useful resource, mapped out real-time results for each congressional and governors race. It should start filling in around seven or eight tonight.

Governor's Race may not be over yet. With 86% of the vote in Scott leads by 100K 49%-47%.....BUT....the counties that are still not fully counted are predominately Blue and Sink is leading strongly. This includes Mia/Dade and Palm Beach....

Democrats keep the Senate! CNN just called it!

I think that's a good thing. Control of both houses would put them in the center spot light, and that could be bad.

The key to the senate now will be how many seats each party holds.

As I read over these post I am still amazed that people actually think there is a difference in the parties. All I see is the next group of crooks in to replace the ones that just left... It's like we are picking a favorite football team or my dad can beat up your dad. They laugh at us and we keep getting the shaft. In four years this will all flop back over to the other crooks and we will all keep on arguing over who has the better team. Meanwhile, we get screwed.

The real question is did prop 19 pass? I am ready to get high. :sarc:

Why is it that when the Democrats win what we hear is "We Won" and "Go to the back of the bus" and when the Republicans win we hear " We need to compromise?" I do not want compromise if it mean more debt, more taxes and no repeal of Obamacare. Let Obama and the Democrats compromise, they lost.

On the flip side, Reid will represent the democratic party in the senate for two more years. :D There's always a bright side!

Polls seems to indicate this is going down. I think though if you took the time to break the vote down by age, you'de find it's only a matter of time before pot is legal.

When the Democrats won there was an olive branch extended. A very bitter minority swatted it away.

Keep in mind that your "win" was only 1/3 of the law making branch of government.

Is "I won" your definition of an olive branch?

Boehner already has signaled little appetite to negotiate with the White House or congressional Democrats, saying last week that "this is not a time for compromise."

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, who told the National Journal, "The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president."

Are these of your definition of an olive branch?

Idle....perhaps more research and less living in fantasy land would be prudent.....;-)

The olive branch being discussed was the one supposedly offered by the chosen one.
Hopefully Boehner and McConnell are being honest. We voted for change today, not compromise. And I can't live in fantasy land because all the liberals are hogging up the turf.

Why should the new Republican majority extend an olive branch to Pelosi et al?

SWGB That's about as bad a concession as I've ever seen. You lost big time and you refuse to admit it. I'm loving the fact that the GOP didn't win the Senate. That means 2012 is a lock. Either way you look at it the fact is this was a landslide witnessed only once in a lifetime.

I pray the investigations of corruption begin. This is only the beginning of righting the ship.

The Democrats were beyond arrogant. Now they grovel for common ground... Take your medicine while The brakes are applied.

It will be very interesting to see how Obama reacts. He will either become outrageously arrogant or he will tone down and focus on 2012. I don't see him toning down and that will be the end of him.

Agree 100%.

In 2006 and 2008 we dumped the Creeps and elected the Nuts. Now we've dumped the Nuts and brought the next batch in. Not sure of the appropriate moniker yet but I doubt anyone's ownership is in doubt.

Sadly Prop 19 failed. How could a state that elects Nancy Pelosi reject the legalization of weed. I don't understand that at all.

As some races were close and some are still being contested, I have a serious question that is not intended to rile up the masses but just curious about the thoughts. If a winner recieves 49% of the vote is that a mandate? What % would you believe a mandate had been given?

Reid is still in? I suspect it's not Christmas, afterall. Senate got 51, which is comprised of 2 Independents.

30ashopper, I went to bed thinking it would be better for the Senate to have a Dem majority. Will be interesting, but they will be forced to work together and hopefully, accomplish more.

The Senate: Thank God the 2 two extreme Right wing nut cases did not make it --whew! Angle and O'Donnell, gone from sight! The other pipsqueak right wing nutcase (from Florida)got in--even though every other voter in Florida did not want him--he will "try" to be trouble -- I say, let the attack machine on him begin now, on all fronts--this means war! His office's in DC and Florida will know me by name !

That is definitely a relief! And thankfully I don't watch cable, where I suspect you will be treated to O'Donnell's musings in the future, in one way or another.

I am finding the Alaska write in of Murskowski to be very interesting to follow.
