How much would it have cost George Bush to visit India in 2007? Did he ever think about doing so?

If you're expecting a cost/benefit analysis from wtw on this trip, don't hold your breath.

Do your own research....btw W.Bush is not president, nor was he in the depths of a recession. Are you sure your not residing in California? That is the only place you could be,facing a bankrupt government and still electing the same bus driver that drove the economy off the cliff.
Get back to me with your results.

I don't know what you're talking about. I didn't say anything about Bush. Settle down and compose yourself before you respond.

He suffers from 'premature post reply'.

Apparently WTW (Dominoes) loves him some Drudge.

White House debunks "wildly inflated" $200M-per-day price tag for Obama's India trip | Media Matters for America

When Media Matters asked about the report, White House spokesman Matt Lehrich responded, "The numbers reported in this article have no basis in reality. Due to security concerns, we are unable to outline details associated with security procedures and costs, but it's safe to say these numbers are wildly inflated."

Yeah, this must be an assigned talking point - Michelle Bachmann was all over it on AC360 last night. AC pointed out it was false.

And why, oh why is THIS the assigned talking point the day after the elections? FTLOG, they WON - time to stop campaigning, time to start leading. :bang:

It's going to take alot longer than 1 day to clean up Obamas mess.Give the Republicans a little longer.2 years of disaster and trillions later, they(republicans) have their work cut out for them.I pray for our country to get back on track.

I would have thought that they would be ready to hit the ground running, so to speak. It's not like this election was a big surprise. Instead, they are all over the place.

It's a sad state of affairs when the GOP is as inept as the Democrats usually are at determining the plan and executing it.

1) The trip does not cost anywhere near that amount.
2) The purpose of the trip is to help Americans get jobs - India is poised to be a bigger market than China.
3) Some minimal fact checking would be highly beneficial to both your blood pressure and the level of political discourse on Sowal.

Edited

The Obama administaration is not disclosing the cost....the info. came from an Indian newspaper, which I assume has nothing to gain politically from the story.
Do you have any facts?

Please clarify. Time for who to stop campaigning and start leading. Obama's been doing it for almost two years and hasn't stopped yet. The Republican majority has yet to take office so how can they lead?
It is just a thought, but it is possible that the lame duck session could get very ugly and I certainly hope not.

As requested:

Obama's India trip -- not as expensive as you may have heard - The Oval: Tracking the Obama presidency

"No, President Obama's trip is not going to cost $200 million a day. That figure -- first thrown out by a single Indian media outlet and now viral on conservative talk radio -- is wildly, wildly off the mark.

The problem is that the costs for these trips are impossible to determine, for many of the president's expenses would be incurred whether he was visiting India or Atlanta or simply hanging around the White House.

Foreign trips are expensive but are a staple of presidential duties. India is a rising economy power. It is next to -- and has an intense rivalry with -- one of the world's most dangerous countries, Pakistan. It can be a counterweight to threats from China. Any president is going to deal with India.

Indonesia is the world's largest Muslim majority nation. South Korea is the site of a G-20 global economic summit. Japan is hosting the annual Asian economic summit, which Obama's predecessors also attended. There's no evidence that Obama's team is spending any more money than its predecessors, taking inflation into account.

Yes, these gigs will cost money. But $200 million a day? Not even close.

One other thing to keep in mind: The Secret Service is not going to let anything happen to a president overseas if they can help it. They're going to do -- and spend -- whatever it takes. That's just a fact of life.

One last thing: The media organizations accompanying Obama will pay their own expenses."

It's like saving all my change and donating it to build schools to piss off the Taliban - helps me sleep at night and builds karma points. 😀
