I am loving Cooking Light Magazine again. I have always enjoyed reading the magazine and have used many of its great recipes. But the last few years I have been kind of bored with it. Don't know what is up but the last few issues have been great!

Here is one article on healthy eating that I enjoyed. After seeing this in the mag, I found it on their online site. The site looks great too! Can't wait to get in there and see what all it has to offer.

10 Tips for Healthy Eating in 2010

Resolve to eat healthier now. Here are all the tools and recipes you need to eat the Cooking Light way.

1. Try Something New
Life is short, the menu is long, and the odds favor the adventurous eater. Variety ensures a nutrient-rich diet and a much happier diner. Eat your way through the color palette―in foods, each color reflects a different set of key nutrients that your body needs. Experiment with different cooking methods to entertain your palate, expose your family to exciting new dishes, and keep yourself learning and growing as a cook. You'll never run out of new things to try and never, ever, grow bored.

Cooking Light. Two words I need back in my vocabulary. I've eaten so much crap since about October, well.....
Anyway, thanks for posting this. It may just give me the kick in the ass that I need to move forward.

Good tips, tootsie. I think I'm becoming a foodie. The Critters' gluten-free dietary restrictions prevent us from eating processed crap to a large degree, and I find that I'm no longer willing to waste a splurge on most mass-produced, processed stuff. Whole food is as beautiful to look at as it is wonderful to eat. I especially like the first line: life is short and the menu is long. Amen!

Just out of curiosity, is there any reason to subscribe to the magazine if one can get the info free online? When Gourmet went under, my subscription rolled over to Bon Appetit. Almost every page has a reference to their website. If I can go to their website to get the recipes, why should I pay for a subscription renewal (except for the gact that it only costs $1 a month)? Isn't the publisher shooting him/herself in the foot, accelerating the demise of the magazine?

Thanks, Tootsie for the link!

you may be right - but if you are like me - I still love to look at a real mag. I truly despise reading anything of any length online especially in my free time, relaxing, reading on the sofa.

btw, Bon Appetit is another fave! i have not checked out their website - but I will!

Just looked at Bon Appetit. It appears that these mag sites are really just supplemental stuff in the form of blogs, tips, etc.. I see some of the magazine content and recipes are included but just a selection.

Thanks Tootsie, since I am back to "eating Light" this will truly come in handy. The link did not work for me so I fixed it. Cooking Light.

Me, too! I totally agree on the magazine vs online. So old school.

My guess is that they're forced to reduce the size of Bon Appetit due to dwindling advertising income. But they can still have the same amount of info by using links for some of it.

Drunken goat. Yum! If Allifun offers the same pizza she prepared at the wine fest, remaining gluten-free will be a real problem.
