EDIT: SHELLY. The cost of the quarter leg/thighs was tempting. But factoring for health/diet and the cost/weight of the bone (and the labor associated with working around it)- I think I got the better value...
Don't sell the leg/thighs of chicken short. The legs and thighs can be roasted or BBQd, the meat removed and the bones can be used to make chicken stock for chicken noodle soup; or just toss the legs and thighs in some water to simmer along with some aromatic veg, herbs and spices; strain the broth, remove the meat from the bones and use it all to make some chicken and dumplings. (If you let the stock set in the fridge overnight, you can remove the fat the next day to make it a bit more healthy)
