Just wanted to let those of you who enjoyed seeing pictures and stories of my Grandfather know that he passed away this morning. He would have been 103 on Halloween.
Up until a week ago, he was still living on his own, going shopping with his brother on Arthur Avenue in the City, making fresh apple sauce in the am for breakfast and most of his own meals. He fell, was brought to the hospital. He had a low white blood cell count now for about a year and was receiving transfusions, however, they stopped working.
We are relieved that he did not suffer, got to spend as much time with him as we did, but he will be sorely missed.
