For a teenager??? :dunno: That's what my daughter spent yesterday. (And no, I didn't treat.) I asked her if she realized that she had to work 28 hours scooping ice cream (she works at Ben & Jerry's) to pay for them. She just shrugged and said they were worth every penny.

Someone out there tell me this is what teenagers do!

It is! When I was in college a friend of mine and I bought Prada bags off Bluefly. They were originally $400 maybe...we got them cheap for $150 or so. My mother had a stroke when she found out. Kathryn and I were together with both our mothers and Kathryn's mom was confused as to why my mom was freaking out. Kathryn said "Mom is Prayda- it's from Walmart" and my mom came back with "No Barbara, it's Prada and it's from Italy". My mother said she didn't own a piece of Prada until she was 30. I was 18. You think you HAVE TO HAVE IT!

I remember begging for Guess Jeans! With zippers on the ankles!

Kimmi, these ones have rhinestones on the butt. I have to say Fyl looks very fetching in them (maybe that's what I'm really worried about!). :rotfl:

I'll confess - I just spent more than that for a pair of AG's. I adore them because the fabric is sooooo soft. Once you've worn the high-priced jeans, it's hard to go back to Gap. The biggest downside to them is that they're more low-rise than cheaper jeans, so my daughter has stopped buying them because she says she's tired of worrying about people seeing her butt crack. At 6'2" they hit a little lower on her than a normal-sized female. She buys Gap jeans, and then wears them with a Marc Jacobs shrug to get the high-style look.

It is crazy how much they cost. Check out http://www.neimanmarcus.com/store/c...&parentId=cat000118&masterId=cat000111&cmCat=

I recently read that these expensive (and high quality) jeans are going to be the major "I want" on most Christmas lists this year in the 15-23 year old category. Even brands such as Abercrombie & Fitch and J.Crew who usually sell jeans that range from $75-$100 now have jeans which range from $120-$300 per pair. I like to shop at J.Crew, because I think they have the best quality clothing and it lasts a long time, and if it ever tears up you can return the item with no questions asked. So that said, I think the new prices are well worth it--these are jeans that can be worn and worn and they look even better with age.

That's bad for sure but... I have an 11 year old son who informed me that he has to start looking good now. That means he wants clothes only from Hollister or American Eagle or Buckle. $90 jeans for a 11 year old, I don't think so!!! Don't even get me started on the Nike Shocks!! $110 for a pair of tennis shoes. To his credit though, he saved all year and bought a pair with his own money. Now when he goes to a friends house, he brings his old shoes with him incase they want to play outside. It's been almost a year and those shoes still look pretty good.

Levi's will do that. My husband does it all the time. If they rip out at the crotch or around the pocket, you send them in and they will send you a new pair. Pretty amazing, there are still companies out there will to stand behind their products.
